Didn't expect so far off using wifi.... Thot at most drop 30mbps :-/

cos got a lot of factors involved that can affect the wifi speed.

such as:

- wireless signal interferance from other devices (eg. other wifi networks, hp, microwave, etc)
- performance of you wifi router
- performance of your laptop wifi adapter
- distance and obstacles between laptop and router
- etc.

Hi,

My fixed line doesn't seem to be able to call out or receive any calls. Have rebooted the black ONT already. Also call 1627 but they are currently off service.

Internet connection is working normally.

Anything I need to do or only M1 is able to reset at their exchange end?

My router is placed beside my Plasma TV, guess that might be another reason too :-o

Might be getting a cordless phone for the fixed voice but if position area that same area another problem .... Haiz, really so space constrained

Have you check if you have plug in the right connector behind the black ONT ?

When the technician come over to install the ont, can we request for the ont to be install around 5-6 metres away from the tp?

Yes and no.

Unless you provide your own fibre cable.
The one provided by the various providers is usually around 2-3m.

Do take note that cordless phones operate on the 2.4G freq also, will cause interference with your wifi speed also.

Side track a little, for the M1 plan it comes with the fixed voice service...
What kind of phone should I be getting for this?
Will normal line or cordless phone be usable?

Any phone will do. As long is not one of these antique types.

LOL....:s13:
That was what i thought too but when i went to asked M1, the CS over the counter said that it's different kind of phone to be used, it has to VOiP and that i should inform the shop that i m connecting the phone using Fibre.

How can i connect the phone to the wireless router? is there a phone port or something?

If the wireless setup is good. It can hit more than 150mpbs ++

Can you advise how to setup a good wireless set up? I am getting the installation done in Jan 2.
Would like to find out more before the installation so that i can be prepared.

I am relocating in 2 weeks.

Total cost = $130 for 100mbps plan is it?

What is i am renting a room? Can I still relocate? What if the owner already has fibre installed? Does it mean i can't have my own fibre connection point also?

Please clarify. Thank you.

Also, how early should i notify m1? I also intend to use my broadband till the last day at my house and have it activated at my rental room the next day is it possible?

Fixed voice I have noticed there are some freq feedback in the background... Much obvious if both parties are silent.. It's the same like those ADSL connection without the Filter plug in between.

Long conversation make me giddy :-/

Just my 2 cents of sharing..

This morning, the fixed line is working again. Maybe M1 is doing some maint work on the fixed line overnight..?

Now, the fixed line is down again and 1627 confirmed that it is country wide. Anyone is also facing the problem? I am staying in the Clementi area.
