M11Gbps $29.90 again. For new sign up.

Recontract $40.65
are they getting rid of their 1Gbps plan soon??

existing customers on 1Gbps plan already paying $40.65 (recontract to pay the same price for 2 more yrs?)
not to mention 500Mbps customers will be paying a lot more if they recontract with 1Gbps..

once ur contract expired, either u move up or u leave
looks like they pushing 2.5Gbps to be the entry plan down the road.

The original price for 2.5Gbps is $64.50/mth. If they make it as entry plan, then when contract end, we may stuck with same scenario as 1Gbps plan. Recontact is same price as original price. Currently M1 1Gbps no contract and recontract is same price at $40.65/mth.

Exactly.
Once ur contract expired, u have no choice but to recontract again to keep the cost at $39.90, unless u jump ship.
The idea is to lock down customers contract after contract.

then we should wait out the contract and just get a new fibre line with another provider?

I don't know if they will continue $39.90 for 2.5Gbps fibre for existing customer to recontract in future. 1Gbps is $35.90/mth for new sign up but $40.65/mth for existing customer to recontract.

This is the sensible thing to do, but M1 still offers free digital line, so for those who need the line may still stick with M1 regardless of contract statusn
singtel and myrepublic plans include homeline. change provider can get a new ONT too.

i am going to recontract my M1 1gbps to M1 3gbps .
i am currently using TP-link Archer AX6000, and i mainly use wifi (not cable) and also mainly only for wi-fi 6 devices. do you guys think i should continue to use my TP-link Archer AX6000, or replace it to the TP-Link Archer BE230 which M1 is giving for free for the recontract. ? can the TP-link Archer AX6000 support 3gbps?

If you mainly use wireless device and not use 2.5G capable wired device, TP-Link Archer AX6000 has 2.5G WAN port to be used with M1 3Gbps plan. It has 8 gigabit Ethernet ports as well.
https://www.tp-link.com/sg/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ax6000/#specifications

If you have 2.5Gbe wired device and would like to achieve higher wired speed than 1Gbps, then TP-Link Archer BE230 is better for the 2.5Gbe wired device. Archer BE230 has dual 2.5G ports, one can used as WAN port and the other can be used as LAN port. At close range, it may also provide higher wireless device if you have WiFi 7 clients.
https://www.tp-link.com/sg/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-be230/#specifications

You can always try out if you want to see if Archer BE230 provides some benefits to you or not.

Hi guys, I'm currently on Singtel and planning to switch to M1 as a new customer. I'm looking at their basic Classic 1GBps plan.

I have never switched ISP before. Always managed to grab timely Singtel deals at ~$30 per month for many, many years. This time, their recontract prices have become crazy though. So I'm deciding to switch.

I have to sign up online at the M1 website first? Or do I just head down to an M1 outlet?

Either way should be okay. If you do not have digital voice, the process should be smooth.

If you have Singtel Digital voice, it is possible to port to M1 as well but you need to be careful -- only can cancel Singtel Fibre internet after the digital voice is sucessfully ported out to M1. Or you may have to debundle Singtel Digital service first. Talk to M1 and Singtel on this digital voice topic if you have that.

But have you talked to Singtel with regard to recontract offer? You are the lucky one since you can get about S$30 per month offer from Singtel. Maybe you can try your luck again with Singtel.

You can try the following promotion link to see if you can get the offer or not, if you do not mind using ONR. All the Singtel recontract offers are using ONR now. Singtel does not support ONT for 2Gbps/3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plan.

Two existing Singtel 1Gbps plan users have reported that they get Singtel recontract offer for 3Gbps plan at S$39.90 per month with TP-Link HB611-SGST triband BE11000 WiFi 7 router (dual 2.5G ports and dual 1G ports).

https://www.singtel.com/personal/pr...k&utm_campaign=fibre-link-recon-direct-mailer

3Gbps Enhanced Plan at $39.90/mth (U.P. $84.90/mth)
  • Comes with 1 unit of Singtel WiFi 7 Router (TP-Link BE11000)

I tend to think this is the best recontract offer now.

Refernece:

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/anybody-using-singtel-mesh.5354946/page-64

The other 3Gbps recontract offer is not as good as the above since the bundled Singtel AX5400 router is much worse than HB611-SGST. But I think it is not too bad either if you want to stick with Singtel and do not mind using ONR.

3Gbps Enhanced Plan at $39.90/mth (U.P. $84.90/mth)
  • Comes with a unit of Singtel AX5400 WiFi 6 Mesh device

M11Gbps $29.90 again. For new sign up.

Recontract $40.65
The irony is existing subscriber can terminate existing line and apply a new line @ $29.90/mth. M1 just want you inconvenience subscriber to go through the termination and application process. Just don't make any economic sense,

Thank you for your advice bro!

Yes I have digital voice...okay will take note and ask them.

For the recontract offer, the CSO was the one who called me to promote the $55 per month 2Gbps plan. In the past, I managed to only grab those $30 per month offers online.

Lemme try the recontract link first and I'll let you know if it goes through!

EDIT: I saw your post on the $29.90 plan...is it confirmed only offered to new sign-ups only? After I saw it I don't dare to recontract with the $39.90 plan yet lol

I believe the Singtel 3Gbps offer at S$29.90 per month is only for selected new sign-ups only but you can always try to negotiate with Singtel to see how it goes. Past report says it is only for existing Singtel Mobile Customers who want to sign up Singtel Fibre Internet service (new user of Singtel Fibre Internet).

But I feel the S$39.90 recontract offer is also not bad as it offers a better wireless router.

S$29.90 per month Singtel 3Gbps special offer for targeted new customers --> Singtel XGS-PON ONR (wired router) + Singtel AX5400 wireless AP (1Gbps capable only, dual band WiFi 6, AX5400)

S$39.90 per month Singtel 3Gbps recontract offer --> Singtel XGS-PON ONR (wired router) + TP-Link HB611-SGST (2.5Gbps capable, triband WiFi 7, BE11000).

i am using BE7000 better than the free tplink router
Thanks. Manage to snap up BE7000 at a good deal $110. Hopefully all goes well.
Will sell away the TP-Link BE230 :)

I assume BE7000 is easy to setup? as usual via the MiWifi webpage or the xiaomi app (mainland china server)?

after using m1 2.5gbps price plan, i dont want to go back to 500mpbs again.
What is reason other than faster internet speed. I also on M1 500Mbps, contract expiring next month 23 Feb 2025.
Thinking of recontract to M1 2.5Gbps $39.90/mth as well or will just stick to the current 500Mbps $30.45/mth.
