Not say M1 maxx more stable, more like depends on location.
Some place M1 maxx better, some ST MVNO better.
yup there are certain places ST MVNO cmi, especially peak hours on MRT trains, the network is so congested. This is where M1's 5G SA is king, on CCL, i was able to stream videos and surf websites without lagging. ST MVNO like zero1 and zym starts lagging.

Best to have both worlds. In terms of RAW speeds, M1 Maxx still the best as compared to ST 5G NSA. So far haven't tried ST 5G SA, so cannot compare.

Indeed ST network can be congested on MRT trains, even though I do not take trains often.

As for Singtel 5G SA speed, I have posted a few results for my Poco X7 Pro. It can reach above 1000 Mbps in some locations (eg, just beside my HDB flat in Jurong West, near to jurong Point). So it should be comparable to M1 5G SA and Starhub 5G SA.

So as you said, in the end, it is good to have both Singtel/M1. Singtel/Starhub may probably be okay as well.

I am going to try Singtel 5G + Eight 4G (Starhub network) first. Singtel 5G + Eight 5G later. Next year I may well try Singtel 5G + M1 Maxx as well as Singtel 5G + SIMBA.

No more port-in option for existing Maxx line I guess after Maxx app update. May be Maxx wants new sign-up for port-in to increase its market share. 😔

We can no longer port in another telco's number to an existing Maxx line? 😮

worked about 2 months ago. Maybe something changed since.

Or is it because it's a retailer's non-recurring plan?

the existing number was a non-recurring line, purchased 6 months prior from my friendly neighbourhood Beng Shop. It was on base plan, so just bought a 1 month 4G plan and ported in on a Friday evening. Successfully ported by Sat morning.

Or maybe they're really craving for people to talk to?

they are humans, so human contact is vital, no? :ROFLMAO:

I did a couple of times before too, just that wanted to port a line this morning and couldn't find the option.

For queries and such, customers would appreciate the human touch. But to terminate a line, they could've let us do it online, either a form (like Simba) or an email (like Eight). Having to call them would mean having to go through their verification steps too, like call my other Maxx line.

Touch too much also no good. :s13:

fair points, although in my experience, while Simba and eight have online avenues, often they no hiu you and you still have to go down to the service centre to be serviced/abused.

also in my limited experience, at least the m1 call centre has been responsive and helpful.

too bad there's no online channel that's helpful and responsive and effective.
cheaper, faster, better - choose one 🤷‍♂️

edit: from anecdotes, the Simba senior helpline is also helpful and responsive. I don't qualify yet, so, just have to be patient

Ok I just signed up for the $10 sa plan. Later take Mrt hopefully can scroll my phone and not watch people scrolling .

im pairing this with vivifi $7.70. Is there any cheaper than vivifi 7.70 out there? Thinking of reducing the overall cost.

also, never use dual sim before as this is my first time. So can I ask - I’m using vivifi physical, maxx esim. I need to set my phone call and sms to remain as vivifi then for data I need to allow data switching correct? Anything else I need to be aware of?

then say I go overseas (say Nz) and buy airalo eSIM for data. Does it mean I load airalo eSIM then I can use vivifi, maxx and airalo? I’m on iPhone 16 pro btw.

AFAIK, max 2 lines active. So it's either 1 physical with 1 eSIM, or 2 eSIMs active at the same time. Don't think you can have 3 lines running...

Oh sorry didn’t know. So if I go overseas, I keep vivifi (main) to receive sms and calls from sg. Then once I load airalo, I need to “turn off” maxx, that right assumption?
