M1 recently upps it's game on SIM Only plan, it's their birthday. There is one plan which I see quite good.

M1 CORI SIM Only, $14.95/MTH gets you 250GB, 5G SA, unlimited weekend data, auto roam, 6 months free caller ID, 2k mins talktime.
Nomal consumer SIM Only, $16.15/MTH gets you 200GB, 5G SA, unlimited weekend data or 300GB @ $19.18

Don't seem to have a thread about M1 mobile , the Mobile Network Operator - M1 and not it's MVNO. I saw another thread on M1, but it's not under mobile communications technology. Unless @mods can merge the main thread and move it over here for discussions.

M1's network so cui, worth to port over? What they offer, can get better deals from MVNO.

actually curious, i’ve used both m1 and starhub 5g before — if they’re sharing the same SA infrastructure, why is there such a big difference in quality of service? aeroplane mode is rare for starhub 5g but for m1 it’s literally occurring so many times everyday

First you need to know 5G NSA and SA are diferent infra. They are sharing SA infra same with MyRepublic SA, Non 5g infra is still thier own and NSA.

I think the issue is with their 4G services. 5G SA for Starhub and M1 should be similar.

M1 is using 4G and 5G SA, they do not operate 5G NSA, so there is no seamless transition. Whereas like Singtel MVNOs and Simba, they all have 5G NSA, which technically is using 4G cell and upgrade it to 5G.

Hence, when one is out of 5G SA area, the connection goes out, and you don't automatically connect back, hence the aeroplane mode.

means m1 4g is so much worse than starhub 4g…

Pls don't even start another M1 thread ever.
Their network is down the drain already...

Been with them for over 20yrs.
Never experienced so FREQUENT DATA LOSS.
Enough is enough, save yourself from hair pulling frustrations.

No $5 or $10 plans can save them honestly. They should just rebrand, again.

network poor is norm, interesting info they take image of other location and claim coverage good instead of reported location and kidd civil employee?
the whole chain of company is amusing

If u see the news of numerous companies for various, it’s surprising this is not the case

I was on m1 since before 3G days and the main reason why i left was i spend a considerable amount of time in Serangoon Nex and for some reason there was little to no 4G coverage there. Not sure if its the same now but those planning to switch i suggest you check this out especially if you live in serangoon or go to Nex often.

The main reason why i will not recommend m1 is their flawed billing and what i deem as false advertising. So my mother was on m1 & recently telcos had the option to block incoming overseas calls.

I went into the m1 app to activate that option for her and saw another option to prevent her from accidentally subscribing to 3rd party content like ringtones and other sheet. It clearly said this option was FREE unless I signed up for it, deactivated and activated again.

A month later i noticed she was billed for this “free” service. And i only activated it once cos why would i activate, deactivate & reactivate? 🙄

1627 is impossible to get through and there’s no email so i PM them on FB Messenger as i had done before when i had issues with my m1 home broadband.

They said my mother had to PM them instead due to “PDPA regulations”. I told them my mother was a senior citizen and not internet savvy and besides, what PDPA are you talking about when i, or anyone, can create a fake FB account with my mother’s name? 😒

After lots of back and forth they “kindly” agreed to make an exception and arrange for their staff to call my mum. Wah so honoured sia. 🙄

They didn’t explain why she was charged for a free service but said will refund her $10.90 in next bill. Refund never came.

Because its such a hassle to contact M1 especially since my mother is not on FB and its such a big deal for their staff to call, we decided to let this slide.

Then last month my mother found she was charged for an IDD call. I checked her call logs and no overseas calls were made or received. WTF?! 🤬

That’s when i had enough and switched her to another telco. So yeah no matter how “cheap” their plans are and how “good” their network is, its still not worth the billing problems. Not that m1 is cheap and their network is good lah 🙄

that's quite a number of billing issues. Many people had issues when they are forced to migrate to bespoke plans. Now all plans on bespoke, you can't even change of ownership.

and they have a m1 official store in the mall

the mall should perm block such blacklisted brand
Well for sure in the store and outside nearby you will get excellent signal and speed. Elsewhere it is airplane mode or simply no data.
