Agree, but this one is my work device also not very convenient to do that.
About to purchase a work device, hesitating between 14 and 16 inch M4 pro macbook. Intend to connect to 2x monitors and afraid of throttling on 14 inch, I do prefer the form factor of 14 inch. However, for macbook air, don't think there is a USB c to HDMI 4k120hz adapter in SG, most adapters only have 4k60hz

Also, for my personal mac device, thinking of getting either M4 mac mini or m4 base Macbook pro 14, or wait for Macbook air m4 next year. I wish to connect to my LG 42C3 oled but for Mac mini the peripherals becoming a headache.

M3 Macbook Air is gimped.. I think the external display support target market is only for student or business presentation, not anything more.

But why for Mac Mini "peripherals becoming a headache"?

For those who want 10G NIC (now that 5Gbps/10Gbps Fibre internet plans are popular), the S$150 top-up is a decent upgrade, since a USB4/TB4/TB3 10G NIC is also not cheap (even the cheap China ones are more than S$100).

This Mac Mini M4 base model (16GB/256GB version) is almost perfect for my use cases (open source projects testing, home networking related learning/testing, normal internet browsing and media streaming) -- except the lack of WiFi 7. Anyway, I guess I will wait for the next generation since my Mac Mini M1 based model (8GB/256GB) is still working fine. No issues with my two USB4/TB4/TB3 10G NICs either (one from IOcrest and the other from GRiS).
