You probably can but for new laptops it's best to start fresh with ur apps and settings to take advantage of the performance.

Your backup is much later than 256Gb as it takes snapshots of your SSD intermittently.
But the restored size won't be larger than 256Gb.

yes it is cheaper by the GST value (7% off)... but they will ask for a departure boarding pass from you =)

my prev mac hdd was 350Gb, and it was about 300GB used. i backed up to time machine.

so if i am going to restore it to the new mbp (256Gb), it (300Gb) would be larger than the new hdd capacity.
so, am i able to choose what to restore or i will be unable to restore?

This is like migrating to a new computer. Just use Migration Assistant. You will have a choice of what it is you want to migrate.

There is no difference in getting the product from a physical store or online store. The only difference is that you get your product on the spot in a physical store.

You can use the educational discount even if you're not a student. However based on the terms and conditions, they do random audit and require some customers to email in their student cards for verification. If you failed to produce a valid student card, you are obliged by law to top up the difference in price. In addition, this breach means that in the future, you are not entitled any education discount.

However, they never state that you cannot buy from education store for your nephew, niece, cousins, brothers and sisters.. hahas..

If by online store you mean Apple store, then there's free shipping to your doorstep, vs lugging the machine back yourself esp for monsters like the iMac.

And sometimes you would find better deals with freebies at the physical stores like Challenger, which is usually not the case with the Apple store (education discount aside).

my macbook pro 13 disc drive is faulty..
it just wouldnt take it disc.
there is something stuck inside that prevents disc from being 'sucked' it
anyone help?

But when ordering the Macbook, how do we know if we are getting the 32 or 64 bit?
