Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy of osx lion, 10.7?? Anyone with the installation disc? I'm willing to purchase it..
Pm me
Thanks!

the installation discs that comes with the machines are tied to the machine types, at least for the laptops.

so its best to get a vanilla off the shelf version of the OS

I've got a MacBook Pro 13" (2013) and the power button is intermittently not responding to the single short-press to put the laptop to sleep.

However a single long-press works as it brings up the options window where you can choose to:

1. Restart
2. Sleep
3. Cancel
4. Shut Down

Proving that the button still works. This started happening early this month and I suspect it is the works of the most recent update for Mavericks and specifically for the 13" MBPR due to the widespread complains of hitting the power button by accident.

I just have two questions,

1. Am I facing a problem at all?
2. Or was it designed this way in the latest update?

If the latter is true, why does it take at times 3 short-presses to put the laptop to sleep and sometimes even up to 10 times?

Kindly enlighten if anyone knows!

Hold for one second then let go. They changed it in one of the updates to prevent accidental presses from sleeping the machine.

It requires him to have Mac App Store.
As far as I know, he doesn't have it because he is still on OS X Tiger.

Have you tried contacting Apple?

Then he needs to buy the Snow Leopard install DVD first, install SL and update to 10.6.8. Following which, purchase Lion from AOS and key in the redemption code provided inside Mac App Store.

No need to install Lion if one is on Snow Leopard. From Snow Leopard can straightaway install Mavericks. Mine is macbook pro, mid 2010, comes with snow leopard, upgraded to Mavericks cos it's free. Didn't install Lion or Mountain Lion cos must pay.

Hi,

My PowerBook cannot update iMovie, saying that it needs OS 6.9.2. I have run software updates and the latest combo updates have been installed. Thought there might be some problems, so I went to the purchase tab in download OS Mavericks again to reinstall. However, during the installation, there was some problems, and it could not continue as it claims there is some problems with the HD. Running the disk repair also cannot resolve the problem. Apparantly the HD has some issue. My PowerBook was running fine before this. Anyone knows how come the HD suddenly down?

Could not install OS. Could not restore. Restart keep going to the OS installation which will fail. :(
