do you think that Vika Hyttan Desk can able to withstand the weight of an iMac? Total stainless steel?

The table which I bought from IKEA (Micke) couldn't stand the weight if my iMac..

Particleboard structure, stainless steel table top. By stats it should hold better than the Micke, but it is still an IKEA.

Honestly the furnishing were bought on impulse. While they are still surprisingly sturdy, I'm hoping to get something higher-end later.

My dream desk would be the Airia desk from HM. But the Bluelounge Studiodesk is a more affordable choice. Still for these prices, one should think of carpentry while browse at ideas from Apartmenttherapy / Unplggd, CB2, HM, Anthropologie, etc.

IIRC, the Micke series is slightly thinner than the Vika series. You might find the solid kitchen top from IKEA to be an option as well.

try not to get the Micke.. it looks nice but cannot stand the weight of the iMac.. even for my 21.5"

You will start to see the wood sinking in...

This is a good thread.

I have a MacBook Air and a DIY PC rig. Been looking to get an iMac and looking to set it up properly. All the posted pictures gave me ideas and inspirations. :D

mine don't...that y i find it strange,

You should try to change the energy saver option. Maybe because the setting you set it to off when it is on power adapter and battery as well. This will cause the screen saver not to appear since your screen is off. Do take a look at it.

Do you experience lag when you activate Misson Control after the system has been running for some time? (> 6hours)
