Following yesterday's reported spotting of in-store digital signage from an Apple retail store in China showing upgraded specs for the Retina MacBook Pro, MacG.co now claims [Google Translate] the update is set to arrive tomorrow, July 29. The information comes from a reliable source who has accurately predicted MacBook Air, iMac, and iPod touch updates in recent months, although the source was off by a few days on the iPod touch update timing.

Few details on the new Retina MacBook Pros are available from the source other than that the update will include both 13-inch and 15-inch models and that only minor changes to the internal model number (J44a and J45a respectively) point to a simple speed bump.

Glad to see the built in Ethernet is back. Yes I know you can buy an adaptor but its a hassle plus extra cost and by going via the Thunderbolt port, that is one less port for you to use.

Apple store is up now with the refreshed 2014 Macbook Pros. Prices are 100 cheaper for the respective equivalent compared to 2013 models. Same as what happened for the Macbook Air early this year.

Dam upset.. just bought my refurbish 2013 Retina at $1518.. now check at edu store only $1548 with better ram etc.. ultimately is the price and its brand new!! FML..

i noticed that they don allow SSD upgrades for low and mid end macbook pro 13 inch retinal.
initially i wanna get the mid end retinal and now i am thinking of getting low end and do the upgrades online.
but apple is smart enough to stop us from upgrading low and mid end macbook.

so i still have to get the mid end retinal

Not that bad lah. My old 15" MBP had an Ethernet port and it still looked streamline.

for now it won't work. cos e newer macs r all using PCIe based SSDs.
this JetDrive is sata based.
