Does anyone know where I can get some small machining done in Singapore? A few small pieces, about 3cm to 20cm. Steel, block machining.

Plenty of these vendor out there...but...Do you have drawing? as in those detailed engineering drawing (dimension/tolerance/etc)

Small quantity machining are normally not cheap...budget?

I can do the drawings; I know how to. Budget is not much of an issue.

Problem is finding where to get it done.

=_= Exactly my point. It's easy to find big machine shops. I've tried. I'm asking if anyone knows where there explicitly are shops that are willing to cater to hobbyists.

ask if any of your friend working in automation or what got deal with supplier from machine shop. Usually have good relation with them can ask for help. I used to do that before, but now switch job never have any contact with supplier anymore.

Actually, no machine shops will entertain you. No make sense for them to stop their machine, realign, adjust here and there to earn a few buck from you, if they take your work..more likely they take pity on you or they really no business....hence I brought my own lathe and mill. If you really got some project frequently, make sense to buy you own machinery.

Last I check, there are shop that will take small single pc but that are not cheap. $80 for a simple cylinder 42mm X 30mm, bored in the middle dia 20mm and take 2 weeks.

a lot lah....
go search for : precision engineering
moi spoon feed you abit: Cnc Machining Services | Cnc Machining Service Companies
but be aware that those big shop may not entertain very small volume from individual.
smaller one maybe rah.

just take a walk at industrial estate like jtc at ubi, tai seng, amk, sure have some shop located there.

SMS me at *9186**72*90 if you still have not found one, I know of one at Admiralty. Price you have to negiogiate with the master. Machine shop is a tough business in SG now. Squeeze all over.

what about simple stuffs like use of a bench drill? i need to drill some vertical holes. dremel stand is too small and the max it can use is 3.5mm drill bit

i did consider getting my own cheap bench drill but thats rather big and heavy for home use

Sounds awesome. Have been looking for a machinist for a certain pc I need, but like what has been discussed, only managed to find the bigger shops which don't really entertain one-offs.
