Nice to read that you have a Unimat lathe. I used to have one too, A Unimat 3 which I bought in 1979. I sold it when I moved to Singapore in 2000 (sob). Now I have a 4410 Sherline lathe with all accessories, a Proxxon FF 320 mill and a newly acquired Amadeal 7X14 lathe. What kind of work are you into? I make parts on request plus I currently work on machining a hit & miss engine casting kit. Lots or parts to make here and it'll keep me busy for quite some time. In addition to that, I just completed making parts for the shutter on an antique camera for a friend of mine.
Fellow home machinists here in Singapore, it would be nice to get to know you, come together once in a while to talk about projects, machines, to exchange experience etc.

or you can try tertiary schools, I'm sure if you have connections there you can get it done pretty easily

Actually, no machine shops will entertain you. No make sense for them to stop their machine, realign, adjust here and there to earn a few buck from you,

Nt really depend how you talk to uncle's...

Last time when I got spoiled my project need submit to school...really no time juz try my luck

When I study ITC at STI MacPherson,I went to AMK PK 3 machine shop ask uncle's,can borrow your lathe machine need to do my project...

The uncle's very helpful,provide me material,and tooling and start to do, when completed the finishing too perfect and very shining,so use dirty oil rub finishing if not school get suspicious and dimension too perfect get higher mark in school that time...


Did you knw your lathe machine still do levelling before can do machining

Hey people... I need to get a prototype done... the solidworks CAD drawing will be done within a few weeks.... it's a small project, after prototype done and approved by client, order will be like 50-100 a month.

I'm looking for a machine shop to help me with this project.

I'm in hougang lah...if you nearby and want to use it..send me a pm..bring your own drill bits thou..the smallest bit I have is 0.8mm, quite worn out leow from drilling pcb.
