Disagreed, if cannot get stock in time. Don't promise customer to deliver by asking them to pay first.
This technique is similar to those putting up low price but unable to fulfill order.

Also becareful those pre order. They are waiting to collect enough order to get discount from supplier. If they cannot get enough order, they may cancel your order.

Look, nowhere on their sales thread did they mentioned you will get a confirmed date. On the Shopee listing, they have clearly mentioned if price goes up, you pay the difference, while price goes down, they will pay you back the difference. I think that is fair and square.

Also nobody asks you to preorder something with no confirmed delivery date. I've mentioned time and again, that I don't encourage this sort of open ended preorder and to potential buyers to take note. But if people still want to go ahead, there is not much I can do. So if people don't want to wait for stocks to be available in stores, and want to take shortcut by means of "preorder", then it is a risk that you will waste your time. Based on others' testimony and my dealing with the store, I am sure they won't fly by night unlike those shadey Carousell sellers that just created a new account for the purpose of scalping and doing preorders.

bought from them before.. pretty nice lady at least they don't list one price in there price list then when you go down they say this is only for people who buy whole system..

i didn't realized their operating hour is only from 6 - 10pm now.. so late kind of worry going down..
1. Not sure the whole place is dark or not.
2. these timing kill me.. my wife at home and if i bring the GPU home sure see and started to chant 紧箍咒

I feel this depends. If you are buying a “pre-order” product, I believe it is mentioned in the description that if the price is higher, you will need to top up. The pre-order prices are indicative. But the flip side is that if she gets the product at a cheaper price from distributors, then she will also refund the difference to you.

Did they just change their operating hours? I recall they used to start late, like 1pm or something. But 6pm is really late. So in short, they are changing their work model to mostly online.

Unless the savings is substantial, otherwise just like you mentioned, travelling down may pretty much negate the $ savings. Also, you need to consider the fact that you can get some rebates using credit card for payment. When you message her, she will usually ask for cash or PayNow/ PayLah settlement, which earns you no points nor rebates.

I don’t deny that Jess is very friendly and patient. But sometimes I just don’t feel like buying from her because,
1. They advertised, but may not have stock
2. They are doing pre-order, and I have no idea when stocks will be in

I ran into issues with them quite a number of times, particularly with the issue of no stock. That’s why sometimes I just don’t want to disappoint myself, and therefore, I avoid buying from her.

Got a few items from Madcow. Motherboard, gpu. All no issues. Owner is friendly too and they definitely have one of the lowest cost if you know how to stack discounts.

I would recommend caution buying from them on shopee.
Their listings are not updated, OOS but put as available. Use voucher to buy from them during 6.6, took them a while to tell me that item is OOS and by then the voucher alr expired ($18 off $150 eh!).
Call the given number no one pick up, whatsapp reply very slowly and eventually stopped replying me. The messages also have to decrypt myself as it was hard to understand what they typed.

Shoulda just believe my instinct after seeing their incomprehensible listing description and avoided them, end up I gian they selling it $1 cheaper than PCTheme and took the plunge..

PCTheme on the contrary, every step of the way they kept me updated with photos of the product, the items in the parcel and the packed parcel that will arrive.

Generally Jess is quite prompt, i.e. may take hours but within the day, in responding to queries on WhatsApp. But I do agree that their listing is not always up to date, i.e. no stock. If you are in a hurry for an answer, I guess the best way is to call her.

I also ordered from them before, but it was preorder during GPU very scarce period. End up they no stock for few months and cancelled.

I managed to camp at amazon.sg and gotten a RTX 3090.

Sometime this is drop shipper trick. Collect enough order (so they can get good discount from main seller). If cannot collect enough order, they just cancel the order. After all the money is hold at Shopee and not with them.

My understanding is that there may be a financial penalty if the seller cancels the order. At least there was once she called to asked me either to change my GPU order to something else, or help her to cancel the deal because she said they will be dinged by Shopee. This is especially so when the order has been placed for some time.

Think if seller has not ship out the item. It should be fine. These platforms depend and 'live" on these money floating between buyers and sellers. Once you place order, your money is gone from your account but is never hand over to seller yet. In theory, the longer the seller took to ship and make the item arrive at your hand. The better they are. Same for refund case.

This is true, but platform holding the funds will not benefit the seller. In fact, Mad Cow was not the only one that told me that if I don't cancel, they may get a financial penalty. There is very little incentive for Mad Cow to try and consolidate orders with any intention to cancel them. That's why those GPU scams in the past will want to quickly complete the orders, so that they can get the money into their account, and in the event they need to cancel the order, they will do it off the platform (assuming they even want to return your money at all). :p
