I've been logging in with the XPAX app on various phones (mostly since reading these complaints) and have not seen any issue lately. Most of these attempts are without the actual XPAX SIM cards in the phones.

Granted I've been using home WiFi instead of data, as I once noticed the app loaded better with the former. Also I went in mainly to check my balances, other than doing 1 reload last night.

Maybe try WiFi... or even reinstall the app?

Oh. When I register the Xpax App, they sent an activation code to the SIM card.
After activation, I checked that my balance dropped, from the RM$6 to RM$5.85.
And my usage got 1 SMS sent out.

Is this the way? I don't think they should do that.
Obviously u did not send any SMS.
Just to let those who will be getting Xpax and use the App.

Cos RM$6 can activate 2 days of 1GB/$3/day.
Was trying to figure out your post last night but couldn't quite understand it.

If the balance dropped from RM6 to RM5.85, means only RM0.15 deducted? Can't quite understand the link to the RM6 activation part.

If I recall correctly, my account was registered using the browser on a PC. If there's an activation code, I could have done it with the browser even when the code came on the phone. It's been a long while back so I can't remember what happened exactly back then.

From personally experiences with them, there's no should or shouldn't with Celcom. Once I see a charge that I don't understand, I'd just online-chat with them to ask what's the charge for and in future, try to avoid doing the same.

thanks for the feedback on xpax.

heard from a lot of postpaid users in malaysia that celcom stinks. celcom barred their lines and yet continued to bill them in full.

if we must use celcom, stay away from its app then.
Ya, been reading lots of complaints about Celcom lately too. Probably "under-management" due to their size and/or lack of staff...?

I personally prefer using the apps of my various prepaid cards, as it's easier to see the options than via USSD. :o

rm6 can buy the rm3 data bundle two times. by losing 15sen, you can only buy it once, leaving behind rm2.85 which cannot used further to buy any data bundle.

losing 15sen is as good as losing rm3 :)

U mobile quite bad
In areas where LTE coverage is good, the speed is fast
But outside, when there's no LTE, 3G is unusable - Super slow

Previously I use U Mobile. Most of North-South Highway got bad Data.
Inconsistent, drop, cannot connect to network.

Yeah
It's pretty good
No need to worry about extending SIM card validity
If have Malaysia bank account can use this to OTP

The only catch is there's restriction on tethering - webe will charge

Also for foreigners need RM300 or 500 deposit

if one can afford rm79 per monthly, one wouldn't mind to pay rm500 for deposit. afterall, after dividing by 3, it is dirt cheap to $ingaporeans :)

many malaysian banks accept foreign number numbers. if you are giving your malaysian number to the bank, make sure your number is turned on all the time even when you are back in singapore. if the bank detects any suspicious activity, they can't alert you immediately if your number is off. the security of online banking in malaysia is not as strong as in singapore.

Each reload will extend the validity as it stacks, and there are 2 payable validity extension options.

Example, on top of the existing 28 months, you top up RM50 to buy a Season Pass. You'll noticed that the validity will show a total of these 28 months + 50 days.

I recall there's a grace period but need to look it up when I get back later.

Yeah, heard alot of negative feedbacks. Have been using xpax24 when I first signed up with Celcom. Not much problem back then.

Now is on xpax Turbo. Didn't have much problem too. No unknown deduction. App also working fine. Data also working fine. Just sometimes received unknown numbers which I just ignored it.

Guess I am lucky, that's why didn't change telco. Not sure can I hold on to the same number if I change telco.

When in SG, I ignore all unknown MY numbers, sometimes even block them if they call back again.

If you want to change telco with the same number - MNP - you can log into your XPAX account and check the detail that it's been registered with. If particulars tally 100%, chances of rejection should be much lower. Better yet, if you can find a dealer willing to follow through the whole process for you.
