A drivers' association in Malaysia is calling for Singapore-registered private-hire vehicles (PHV) to be barred from entering the country.

The Southern Private Hire Vehicle Association made this demand in a Facebook post on Monday (Oct 6) night, urging Malaysian authorities to act on their requests immediately.

In addition to stopping Singapore PHVs from entering Malaysia, the group is asking for the government to start legalising local cross-border point-to-point services, as well as to strictly penalise Singapore PHVs operating illegally in Malaysia.

Is there something wrong with their heads?

Why will any reasonable Singapore PHV driver do cross-border services when earning ringgit is much less than earning SGD? Most PHVs which go in are just as normal passenger cars doing private things and not doing PHV jobs, what is the rationale to ban these PHVs? :s22:

Actually read the comments in the post.

They actually got video footage of sg phv went to jb hotel to pick up Ang Moh. (Cheapo Ang Moh staying in jb hotel?)

The real reason they became so aggressive is because LTA stopped renewing their MPV autopass, using it’s registered as tour company etc.

Still don’t get it. Cos Grab and such don’t have such services

If u r saying oh but they got a PHV sticker, its doesn’t confer any advantage at all cos grab and gojek don’t have such services

might as well say ban all Singapore cars cos in theory any Singapore car can be doing an illegal ferry service, even if they don’t have a phv sticker

Never underestimate the stupidity of jhks jhbs. Ban those with phv sticker or no phv sticker sinkie vehicles doing ferry services in and out of JB is understandable. Now these idiots trying to spin something out of nothing. Just close the borders and let all these malaysian hang white cloth outside their house again la. Problem solved

Tricky. Even if the govt doesn’t ban phv from going to Malaysia, if I had that sticker, what would be stopping some Malaysians from slashing my tires out of spite?
Then don't drive into jb lor

No lah the thing is, to provide illegal phv services, dun even need a phv with that blue phv decal lor.

So going by the Malaysia drivers association logic then should ban all Singapore passenger cars lor.
