Malaysian drivers' group wants authorities to bar entry for Singapore-registered PHVs

A drivers' association in Malaysia is calling for Singapore-registered private-hire vehicles (PHV) to be barred from entering the country.

The Southern Private Hire Vehicle Association made this demand in a Facebook post on Monday (Oct 6) night, urging Malaysian authorities to act on their requests immediately.

In addition to stopping Singapore PHVs from entering Malaysia, the group is asking for the government to start legalising local cross-border point-to-point services, as well as to strictly penalise Singapore PHVs operating illegally in Malaysia.

Tricky. Even if the govt doesn’t ban phv from going to Malaysia, if I had that sticker, what would be stopping some Malaysians from slashing my tires out of spite?

Do they know how many sg cars got the PHV label that goes in on a daily basis for petrol,makan,services, groceries, massage etc or not.

If this group never go in, its as good as JB economy toh.

Actually not all are PHV drivers but most of them are using the loophole to own cars by taking up the 10 year car loan
Therefore COE prices just refuse to come down!

Initially, I was still sympathizing with their illegal PHV kana impounded but I think it really serve them right to get their vehicles seize now. They might as well ban all the license taxi from both side from crossing the border totally. Brainless call.......
