Yeah there is a different between overpaying and not spending.
I also have no idea what is the big deal of proven players.............. Brighton has brought many "unproven" players and they are beating this club home and away easily in the last few seasons.

If the players are not fielded correctly,, it will result in proven failures too..
main problem is utd love to buy unproven players with insane fees. look at zirkzee, rasmus etc.

nowaday with the highly inflated market plus the MU tariff ..
any player less than 50M pound is more of a norm..
IIRC....ZZ cost ard 40M pound while Hojlund was 70M pound

thus they need to buy players the likes of Amad, Heaven etc...

unproven and low transfer fee....decent wage.

Even Yoro is considered expensive for his age.

And usually the factors that will jack up their transfer fee is the greedy agents and the club themselves.

Bo liao new signing

Man Utd complete deal for 'exciting' young forward
Manchester United have completed the signing young forward Enzo Kana-Biyik.
The 18-year-old will go on loan to Swiss Super League side Lausanne-Sport.
Last season, the France youth international scored nine goals in 18 games for Le Havre's Under-19s team.
“Everyone at United would like to welcome Enzo to the club and wish him the very best of luck for his loan,” the club have said.

In quotes carried by The Mirror, Napoli owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, explained part of the reason why Napoli want Garnacho so badly is because he plays for Man Utd.

The veteran owner went on to state United have a “fault” within that prevents them from unlocking players’ true potential. Once they leave they flourish and Napoli hope to benefit with Garnacho in the same way they did with McTominay.

“Garnacho’s got pace, flair and potential,” said De Laurentiis.

“But that’s not even why we want him. We want him because he’s at United. Get him out and he becomes twice the player. There’s a fault at United that I can’t explain.”

While De Laurentiis’ comments may seem unnecessarily harsh, there is more than a hint of truth in what he’s saying.

Anthony Elanga left Man Utd two summers ago for just £15m and quickly developed into a potent attacking force at Nottingham Forest. Elanga is now on the cusp of completing a £55m switch to Newcastle.

Antony looked a world-beater in his six-month loan at Real Betis. Marcus Rashford shone during his own loan spell away at Villa Park.

Even Jadon Sancho who will go down as one of Man Utd’s worst pieces of transfer business improved his fortunes at Chelsea and lifted a European trophy after scoring in the final of the Europa Conference League.

Then of course there’s McTominay who Napoli have first-hand experience with.

Napoli may be able to retain the title if able to sign Garnacho.

Cameroon Assistant Coach Ashu Cyprian on the Mbeumo to Man United deal taking so long: "I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on. But of course, he’s already told them he wants to go to United. He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he’s very grateful for the opportunity that he’s been given by Brentford in his career." [via

Dibling, who’s been labelled “incredible” by former boss Ivan Juric, managed to register a higher tally of progressive passes per 90, along with a higher pass completion rate - having the ability to aid others within the final third.

He also managed to complete more take-ons per 90, along with an increased tally of carries into the final third, showcasing the direct nature he possesses with the ball at his feet.

£55m may be seen as a huge investment for such an inexperienced talent, but it’s a risk worth taking given the levels he’s produced at a below-average Premier League outfit.

He’s already proven that he can outperform Mbeumo in numerous key areas, undoubtedly only going to get better too, playing alongside top-level talents for many years to come should he move to Old Trafford this window.

Man Utd should forget about signing Mbeumo & try to sign Dibling.

havent seen much of Dibling.

But i recalled Daniel James, also touted as willing take on defenders, coming in and performing for the first few matches, afterwards like suddenly got amnesia and can't dribble. Antony also same thing.

So get a good player who can take on defenders come in after a month or 2 will become ineffective at taking on defenders.

Don't waste money to destroy talents please.

Rio Ferdinand has called on Manchester United's hierarchy to hurry up and finalise a deal for Bryan Mbeumo to avoid an "egg on your face situation."

On his Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel, the ex-defender said: "David Ornstein, who's a friend of the channel, has reported that he [Mbeumo] has told Tottenham, he's told Brentford that he only wants to join Manchester United. So Man United and Brentford have to come together and find a way of... well, Man United have to find a way of meeting Brentford's valuation.

"I think the proposal is £55m with £7.5m add-ons. That doesn't seem to be enough, maybe, for Brentford, but I think Man United have to get this done. I think it's been in the news for far too long to get to a situation where you get to the end of the window and it doesn't happen.

"I think that would be a custard, egg on your face situation for Man United, unless they go and get someone else, another striker. Who have they got waiting in the wings as an alternative?

"We haven't heard, really, any other names that it seems to be getting close with. So, I'll be surprised if this deal doesn't go through, because Man United have been adamant. It's gone public, they've allowed that to happen, and they're in a position now where they've got to make a move to kind of get this over the line."

When discussing why Mbeumo would be such a suitable fit for United, Ferdinand added: "He fits the bill for me physically. He's dynamic, scores goals in the Premier League, knows the Premier League. Watch this space."

forever buy high sell low

other clubs and their agents know how to deal with Utd.
wait last minute so can low ball/jack up the price when Utd is desperate to get deals done.

rinse and repeat every transfer window.
