Is it worth investing in MISE or just buy the banks' stocks
i have been asking myself the same qtn too. i am likely to sell part of my mii to buy dbs.
these are some pros and cons:
pros:
  • mise has no sales charge. bank stocks has trading fees (most brokers have min fees).
  • mise min trade is $1. bank stocks min trade is 100 shares (dbs abt $6,300).
  • mise has mthly div with reinvest option. bank stocks have qtrly cash div.
  • mise has daily unit price. bank stocks share price fluctuates.
  • mise is diversified with 49 holdings, 85% under sg.
cons:
  • mise management fee is 1.25% pa. bank stocks doesnt have holding fee.
(not vested in mise or sgx stocks)

thank you for listing down the pros and cons. Aside from the charges and MISE being cheaper to invest, doesn't seem like the other pros actually has much difference if investing in bank stocks directly

oops, i forgot to give conclusion like ai.
yes, mise is suitable for frequent small trades while bank stocks are more for big buys and hold long term. banks have supposingly better yields than mise. the stocks have agm and corporate actions.

it is worth noting that 15% of amova singapore dividend equity fund isnt sg equity.

anyway, both mise and bank stocks r deemed as good investments based on their track records.

You also have to look at the factsheet and decide if the other companies in the funds are also worth your investment

https://sg.amova-am.com/docs/defaul...-SINGAPORE-DIVIDEND-EQUITY-FUND-FACTSHEET.pdf
ISIN : SG9999003826

The 3 banks only makes up 21.9% of this fund

If you are just wanting to dip your toe, then yes, this is a good starting point.
But if you already have the dough, why not just straight jump into bank stocks?

i still waiting to enter MIG

It's so low, what are you waiting for?

Low becomes lower. But MIG at $0.946 (28 May NAV) surely can enter 1 tranche to DCA. 🤣

Gold price correction probably not over yet.

Strong support level at US$4389.

Long term fundamental is still bullish. Central banks are still accumulating gold to derisk from US debt.

GG war escalation again!

WTI Oil spiked above 7%.

US 10Y bond yield above 4.5%.

AGG trending down. MII GG again. Possibly another new low by end of the week. Below $9.00 is possible now.

Gold possibly trending down to strong support level $4389. If break below is no eyes to see liao. Many MIG boomers will go and bang table at M*ribank's office reception. LOL!

My MISE history not including small DCA:

Enter $15000 with 230426 MISE NAV Price 1.8886.

150526 MISE Payout $61.58.

Fully exit with 180526 MISE NAV Price 1.8986, profit $82.49. Amount credited on 250526.

Re-enter $15000 with 290526 MISE NAV Price 1.8897.

STI currently going over 5100 today, D05 currently all time high. MISE NAV Price is very likely to rise a lot.

Gold GG liao.

Going to drop to $4389 soon. Strong support here. Expect a short term bounce. If not really no eyes to see. 🤣

yup I am also sitting on about 8 to 9% paper loss invested so far via DCA.

Its also abt perception , like how our grandparents buy & hoard gold , silver despite the current market price & irrespective of going up or down , wont even track prices as often as we do.
So precious metals is more like a buy & forget kind of investment haha

Since our father grandfather times whenever war starts gold always shoot up. But the luck seems to run out for us this generation. It is first we see gold drop during a war. A lot of ppl are trapped so you are not alone. Most including me wait for orange man to be removed or step down before there is hope.
