After next week fed meeting, roughly ~4kUSD, so 5% more drop to go!

that will bring us back to last yr Oct’s price levels
So turns out im partially correct about drop in metals post-fed just that we had strong recovery off last week’s low with the iran deal.

we might test the 4.1kusd level again tomorrow or monday but i do feel we should be very close to the bottom (w/o testing 4kusd). Can carefully DCA tomorrow and monday.

I am curious how often you buy sell? E.g you buy $X on date T. Then date T+1 you will sell? But at that time the $X not yet appear on app leh? Or you have a spreadsheet separately to keep track of your date of purchase and amount?
My recent transaction on MISE is very simple, made a buy order of SGD 15000 on 290526 (T) which was the cutoff date to get the payout.

On 020626 (T+1, 010626 is SG Public Holiday), NAV Price confirmation.

On 040626 (T+3, 010626 is SG Public Holiday), transaction completed, $X appear.

On 150626, payout of SGD 61.91 credited.

Finally made a sell all order on 170626 (T) before cutoff time, after knowing that 170626 NAV Price will rise significantly.

On 180626 (T+1), announced 170626 NAV Price which increased, hence locking in SGD 223.05 in profit.

240626 (T+5, usually will fulfil the earliest date) will credit the proceeds back to my account.

Slightly less than a month with SGD 15000, I made a gain of SGD 61.91+223.05=284.96.

This also depends if the month unrealised return is positive or negative. If negative, do not sell, keeping holding. If positive, sell all to lock the gains.

These are just my ways, not advices, there are always risk.

Hopefully rally , I also paiseh with my paper loss so far.
But this week fed meet not the last hurdle , as long as usd strengthens , bond rates rise , fed rate hike or even its expectation , upcoming AI stock IPOs like OpenAI / Anthropic , etc etc can lead to roller coaster in metals.

Even country specific policy changes can have a big impact on metals , like India recently actions to curb gold imports, heavily hike import taxes to protect its currency against usd.

We always at mercy of these geopolitical , macroeconomic factors , especially retail investors like us can never know everything
Despite the war peace deal & FED hold rates , Gold drop back to $4180 and Silver $65 as of now , Headache!
I guess its the changed outlook towards commodities , where people can find more interest / dividend earning opportunities than last time or profits in tech stocks.

Guys I ask you ah , I remember MISE was discussed here when it was launched.
But wondering why MISE maribank has 1.25% expense ratio while STI ETF by same Amova fund manager on sgx can have 0.24% expense ratio. I mean both are from Amova tracking almost the same thing , Maribank just gets its share from Amova directly.
But why the expense ratio 5x more ?

Ah ok got it , becoz MISE is a actively managed fund unlike STI ETF.

  • On SGX (G3B/GAB): You are buying an (ETF) that is strictly a passive index tracker. The computer algorithms at Amova simply buy the 30 stocks in the Straits Times Index in their exact weights. There is no human intervention or stock-picking involved.
  • On Mari Invest (MISE): MariBank wraps an active unit trust called the Amova Singapore Dividend Equity Fund. This is an actively managed mutual fund.

i prefer to check on the net yield instead of the fees. compare amova ut Vs etf for last 6 mths, which 1 give better returns?
mise 12.6% vs sti etf 13.6%

(vested in MISE, mthly payout ~$5 :ROFLMAO:)

Why wait for dividends when you can get fast profits with power stock counters/ETFs?

To me Forex/Commodities related products are a form of speculation aka gambling. Many years ago I lost S$30K+ playing Forex trading. Don't be like me. 🤣

I still have one US$10K contract for USD/ZAR. Rollover for 8 years already to earn swap points until almost breakeven soon. 😅

Understand , actually I hear this often today , even from experts on youtube that Commodities are becoming more speculative trade rather than its older status of long term hedge against inflation.
They say this even for Gold , not just silver , especially with the % volatility we have seen in last 6 to 12m

Usually if STI is green, and looking at the top 10 holdings of Amova Singapore Dividend Equity Fund, if they are all high green, very likely the next NAV Price of MISE is going to increase significantly, and we can sell using that next NAV Price before 1359 cutoff. MISE next NAV Price is easier to estimate than MII because ZN1!, US10Y and AGG are unpredictable these days.

If all red, can buy lower NAV Price for MISE.

Thanks for sharing. So I am correct you wait for your buy order to appear already before decide to sell.

Just suggesting if you want to play such game and hope to faster see your buy order complete appear the fund Amova Spore Dividend Equity Fund is available in moomoo webull FSMOne. My experience is buy order complete (reflect in app) 1 day earlier T+2

I am in same philosophy as you. Many times etf supporters say low expense ratio beat unit trust. But I argue low expense cannot perform what is the use?

Even among ETF the same idea can play out. Recently using StashAway I buy same amount same day ESGE and SPEM and although ESGE expense ratio much higher it delivers much more returns. So expense ratio is just one factor but not dominant factor. The top holdings in the ETF matter much more.

I have notice 1 thing in common since this War started , every time there has been ceasefire talks / deal talks , Israel will attack or initiate a mess , not sure if its purposely or ignorance , repeatedly done the same thing until Trump also scold Israel publicly haha.

oops, i forgot to give conclusion like ai.
yes, mise is suitable for frequent small trades while bank stocks are more for big buys and hold long term. banks have supposingly better yields than mise. the stocks have agm and corporate actions.

it is worth noting that 15% of amova singapore dividend equity fund isnt sg equity.

anyway, both mise and bank stocks r deemed as good investments based on their track records.

STI is 100% sg equity.

Lau Goh is right.

"You pay peanuts, you get monkeys."

I don't mind paying a higher expense ratio for a good fund manager that outperforms.
