IMO the issue is not whether he owns the factory in China but rather where the mattress is made.
Look up the word "manufacture" in a dictionary. If you make something here in Singapore, then you can say its manufactured in Singapore. If the idea is hatched in Singapore but the actual manufacturing process is done in China, then you can NOT say its manufactured in Singapore.
Its like some electronic brands advertise certain TVs or certain refrigerators as "made in Japan" or "made in Korea". This is to give the sense of premium quality as opposed to other brands or other models which may be made in China, Thailand or Malaysia where the manufacturing is "more inferior".
If the actual TV or fridge is advertised as "made in Japan" it MUST be made in Japan. You can't say brand A is a Japanese brand and the idea came from the HQ in Japan but to cut cost we manufacture in China and we still brand it as "made in Japan". That is misleading the customer.
Same thing here. The idea may have come from a Singaporean and whatever technology or technique may have come from a Singaporean but if the mattress is made in China, then you must brand it as made in China. You can NOT say its made in Singapore.
