my friend chose #270. he didn't realize his living room has no privacy. LOL. Wait till I show him this. funny nobody spotted this earlier. means the #270 owners have to keep their curtains permanently drawn since the windows cannot be changed.

can install the mirror glass. Nowadays is cheap n good. Outside cant see in but inside can see out clearly.

If you read carefully, the HDB documents specifically prohibits changing the window glass colour to preserve the aesthetics of the whole block. so if you change illegally, HDB will most likely come after the flat owner. the mirror glass will also permanently reflect the sunlight into the opposite building's residents, so most likely, they will be the ones to lodge a complaint, presumably.

for punggol sundew, are the kitchens/yards exposed for the corridor units? meaning that whoever walking past the corridor units can see the kitchens/yards? thanks in advance for clarifying my doubts.

than get those approved by hdb one. if ur privacy is invarded hdb will understand, my current block got ppl change their glass to those that prevent ppl from seeing in.

mirror glass may not be approved but i am sure those privacy glass or non-see thru films to paste over the glass. fyi my flat windows have installed those non-see thru films for 25+ yr already so far nobody complained.

Agree! There're many ways to conceal privacy and i didn't think it's a major problem. Maybe HDB will decide to put something something to prevent spying? Plus if you're staying on high level, i doubt anyone want to risk their life by sticking out their heads.

this is what i think also, hence those malay that apply at KW will be those very keen or intrested to get KW hence i predict high pick up rate for those malay applicants.

but i believe during this fasting months, u do a good job and pray, God's willing anything can happen. those scedule for oct selection will also be good because those not able to get bank loan or hdb loan will have to be forced to give up their good units or ppl who changed their mind. usually such ratio is low but not impossible that up to 30 good units maybe forced to be dropped out.

my fren is one with sucky number but got the very good unit as the applicant dropped out!

i agree.. plus i have a feeling that people may also choose to drop out when thier q number comes simply because the unit or units they had targeted are already taken up..hence my estimation is that by oct the drop out would be more than 35% as there will be less choicest units.. this in turn would translate opportunity to those with high q numbers.. especially me!! hehe...

another good point there. just that the units will be those left over "undesired " ones and maybe a few good units from those who drop out because loan not approved.

btw, u chinese or malay? i am chinese but my gf is half malay.

Wonder why some choose MT #270 as anyone standing at #272 walkway can look into the living room if they stretch their neck out. With full windows in living is slightly unfortunate thatl view is partially block by #272. Which means we can only have a better view in the bedrooms. Maybe they go for the wind ba.

Only unit 268 and 270 has a 'clear' space in the living room.
Compare to the rest which has household Shelter in the living room. This will create a smaller space by visual default and u cant do anything much with the given walkway. This is the decision that made my wife m I choose 270.

Ultimately hdb layout is quite badly done, IMO...

I will be selecting a 3 room flat tomorrow.

Any recommendations for which unit? My preference is Bendemeer Light.

Thanks all.

Regards.

4 room
11 selection 1 Drop out 10 selected :- 10 chinese
Total unit :888
Unit still available : 694
Selection Q number : 252
total number of selected unit 888 - 694 = 194
total number of drop out 252 - 194 = 58
% drop out is 58/252 x100% = 23.02 %

And base on the Ethnic Quota
Chinese : 582
Malay :190
Others : 95

If all remaining unit from tomorrow is selected by chinese the last q number before the ethnic Quota for chinese is reach would be 252 + 572 = 824.

And should there be no more drop out the q number will end @ 888+ 58 = 946

I prefer higher floor. But will the view be blocked?

Base on my 30 years experience living in that area. The best view in block 10A might not be the best going forward, Hoa Nam building doing en bloc soon and I also believe eminent plaza and lavender sq too as the plot ratio is 3. A partial block view and a potential block out of kallang river near the former gas work with plot ratio up to 5.6. Just imaging take away the view, what do you have,a hot and noise junction with no view.

2 cents worth.

If you want a safe bet on the view,10b block 121 37-40level with partial block view as blocks in front at 10c are only up to 34 floor plus 2-3 level of buffer. Block10c 123 with clear view 31 to 34 level will have good view even factor in a potential sers at bendermeer central old flats directly in front of the block as plot ratio is at 2.8

2 cents worth
