 If that's the case, is the 800 min spending based on calendar month or per statement?
It has always been calendar month. Did u just get this card? U can find ur cashback tracking in treats app. U will see previous and current month cashback. Click on the previous month and it will show exactly how much u will get on the 5th of the current month

My statement date is on the 25th but the treats app will include the spending(25 - 31)for the next statement in the current month's calculation. So we cannot really rely on the app for an accurate reflection of the spending?
The treats app has been quite accurate except one for the glitch on ringgit spend and they resolve quite fast.

It's on calendar mth and based on posting date. I do notice their transaction sometimes takes longer to post so I usually clock 800 like 4 working days before the end of mth. Can clock more if u like lah.

Just received email from Maybank saying the following. Power.. think all banks will follow suit?

From 1 January 2026, transactions under the Merchant Category Codes (“MCC”) 6051 and 7995 will be deemed as cash advances.

Cash Advance fee will apply and interest will accrue once your Card has been charged.

Don't use for such purposes but also like to know what are such merchants to avoid it just in case.

Google online as below.

MCC 6051 is for non-financial institutions providing services like cryptocurrency purchases, money orders, and foreign currency exchange, while MCC 7995 is for merchants in the gambling industry, such as casinos, lotteries, and online betting platforms.

Maybe there is some form of loop hole previously where casino guests can buy credits for gambling?

Another nerf for FnF starting 1 Jan 2026.
Basically, for the same min spend of $800, cashback is nerfed to 6% with $20 cap per category (from the current 8% with $25 cap per category).
New tier min spend of $1600 gives 8% cashback (6% for groceries) with $30 cap per category.

Just receive the email too . Kinda of bad thing here . Maybe time to relook back to use UOB One instead due to capping problem - if the main trigger is groceries.

You really have to close to max all 5 categories to meet $1600 spend target . It is much forgiving for the 6% - which shows that the extra 2% is hard to fight.

Unless - if you are always going to Indonesia / Malaysia every month and spending there - fulfilling 6th category. I guess it works as upgrade to some people

Agree, for those who have been consistently clocking MYR and hitting $1k+ with FnF, this might work out better for them.
Doesn't quite suit my usage pattern well since I'm usually around $800+ so I'll probably retain my current usage and accept the 2% drop.

From 1 December 2025, all transactions under the following Merchant Category Codes (“MCC”) listed in Table 1, as well as transactions matching the transaction descriptions listed in Table 2, will no longer be eligible to earn TREATS Points or Cashback on all personal Maybank Credit and Debit Cards.

Table 2

BAGUSCANTINEINSTAREM
RAZERPAYSEDAPSGEBIZ
SIMPLYGOSINGAPORE E-BUSINESSSINGTEL DASH

Does this mean Amaze (=Instrem?) and BUS/MRT (=SimplyGo?) also nerfed ?

These have been shared before. No impact to use amaze and simplygo with this card.

For malaysia ringgit spend, how are the extra fees like ah? so that means u get whacked many times before final bill in SGD?

Card Transactions in Foreign Currencies and Transactions Processed Overseas

  1. Card Transactions in foreign currencies other than US Dollars will be converted into US Dollars before being converted into Singapore Dollars. Card Transactions in US Dollars will be converted to Singapore Dollars. All conversions are subject to such exchange rate at such time as may be determined by the respective card association(s), namely Visa International Service Association and/or Mastercard International Incorporated at its absolute discretion. The exchange rate used for conversion may differ from the exchange rate at the time of the Card Transaction due to market fluctuations.
  2. Pursuant to clause (a), with effect from 1 November 2021, the Bank shall charge the Cardmember the converted amount and the administrative fee of 2.25% of the said amount (or such fee as the Bank may determine from time to time) for all Cards.
  1. In addition, all Card Transactions in foreign currency will be subject to a charge of up to 1% on the converted Singapore dollar amount by the respective card associations.
  2. If the Cardmember has chosen to convert the overseas Card Transaction (including online Card Transactions) into Singapore dollars at the point of payment via dynamic currency conversion (a service offered at certain overseas ATMs and merchants), or the transaction is in Singapore dollar but processed by an overseas merchant (including online Card Transactions), the Cardmember acknowledges that the process of conversion and exchange rates applied will be determined by the relevant ATM operator, merchant or dynamic currency conversion service provider, as the case may be.

All card transactions in Singapore dollars but processed overseas will be subject to an administrative fee of up to 1%.

It is typically 3.25% more than the rate you get from youtrip. Net net you still get 8-3.25% about 4.5% cashback compared to using youtrip card.
note that if the ringgit spend is on any of ur 5 categories and you have yet to max out before these spent, they will count towards the 5 categories before moving to ringgit spend category. Same goes to IDR spend.

hi can i check what you meant by no impact? since they said no more cashback, do you mean it will count towards the $800 but not eligible for 8%?

As Bus/MRT is not charged as "SimplyGO" and Amaze is not charged as "Instarem". Hence it doesn't affect your transport trip or Amaze usage.
