Hi all,
From what I read, 5GHz has better speed than 2.4GHz.
Can we manually set our devices to use 5GHz? Or is by default?
Or 2.4GHz n 5GHz actually means our routers are broadcasting 2 SSIDs so we choose which one to connect to on our devices?
And if our router is AC, does it mean the wireless adaptor in our laptops need to be wireless AC as well to have the best speed? If our adaptor is wireless N, will it be much slower?
Ok I'm answering my own question here but I've found the answer.... somewhat.

Hi I'd like to find out if it's a worthy upgrade from my current R7000 to this AC88U? In a 4 room environment. Would the difference between the 2 be even significant to warrant a change?

need help with my network

I just bought an asus RT-88U.
I encountered a situation which i dont know what's going wrong.
My house internet set up works this way. my router is at my living room. It is connected to my modem and there is another cable from my cable to my TP powerline adapter which comes out at the other end plug of my room and then connected to my computer.
I am experiencing 30mbps for download and upload. My wifi is receving 80mbps plus. When i directly connect my router directly to my computer, it is experiencing 400mbps.

Is it my TP link problem or there's some settings?

Kinda confusing. Try to simplify it and if possible, include a diagram bah..

ok. My desktop is using a wired connection using TP link powerline adaptor. Its is receiving 20mbps only. My wifi on the other hand receiving 80mpbs for 5ghz bandwidth.
I tried to connect my desktop directly to my asus 88 router, it receives 400mbps.
So i was wondering whats going on. Is my powerline adapter faulty? or is there other issues that is restricting my computer only receiving 20mbps through a powerline adaptor.

Only when going through power line you experience speed drop. So it's obvious it's either the power line or your electrical wiring not up to standard.

nope, usually its the nic driver issue..

I'm using default LAN settings and I didn't have the slow download speed.

Using M1 1Gbps with the Asus AC 88.
Speedtest for xperia z5p= 100mbps,
note 3= 150mbps & apple 6=50mbps.

Test at ont 700mbps plus. What's wrong here?
