In need of assistance from Asus or the Guru's here, please..

Recently, acquired ac87u and have updated firmware to 3.0.0.4.378.9313 but I've noticed loading of a webpage takes anywhere between 15-30 seconds on either IE or Chrome. Sometimes, I get the following message from Chrome "This webpage is not available" and on other times, a web page is loaded with broken/missing links.

My previous d-link dir-865L router never encountered such issues. I have tried the Asus ac-68u as well, seemed to work very well too. So am boggled with the ac87u's response..

The ac87u at times seems responsive while most of the time, not so. Am wondering, could it have something to do with the router settings, firmware or browser settings? Seriously, am at a lost and need all advice possible. :s11:

Thanks and MANY thanks!

I am using the latest firmware as well didn't encounter any slowdown loading webpages. Your problem sounded like a DNS issue, try flushing your DNS. Make sure you have reseted your router after updating the firmware.

Hi JK, its version 3.0.0.4.378.9313 downloaded from Asus website. But problem seemed to have been resolved. Thank-you.

Yup I did, probably he missed that line. No biggy.. :s13:

It was indeed, the darn DNS issue. Tried DNSflush, didn't help. Changed to GoogleDNS, OpenDNS and back to auto DNS that seemed to resolve the issue almost instantly. Strange, but yup it worked. Thanks.

Dear all,

As you guys know how we name our firmware version.

Beta Version
We will give number 9 at the first number for beta releasing.

Example:
Official Release: RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_380_8825-g79cb7d9.trx
Beta Release : RT-AC87U_9.0.0.4_380_8825-g79cb7d9.trx

However, we will stop posting any beta firmware.

We will select 3 users to assist us to test the beta firmware and new features.

The user must stay in Singapore and provide me your ISP.

Best regard,
JK

If you look at the complains for the previous beta release, I think that it's better not to release to the public.

Some pple just don't know the purpose of the beta.

exactly. i think its a good move to select some users to test in a closed-beta situation than to release to public. There will always be some people who don't understand the goodwill of doing that and simply take advantage of the beta release by suggesting something outside of the purpose of beta release. Constructive feedback is good, but more often than not its always that few j**ks who come in and ask for implementation of icons etc..

I support the notion of selecting some participants to help test out the firmware in a local market.

Yes, internal testing has always been a handful of officers normal bug feedback....

I agree keeping it as closed beta, but just Singapore?

Dear Sentinelvdx,

We choose to select 3 users to test is to prevent some demanding users from the forums, which we find it too stressful to handle them.

it think what asus@sg referring to is to select 3 users from a local market to test betas so that local feedback can be obtained.

likely will still be the same as SNB betas, but sometimes cases like ac88u's 858 unable to work with singtel fibre will be modified and be released as 941 for singapore market only..

Dear Refred89,

Thank you for helping me reply :)

Understood, because when releasing private betas, I don't see a point if you're getting the same builds as the guys on SNB.
