thank you for your advice. what are the chances of appealing even though after scan i still have the fibroid?

I will have to say its pretty low. That said, if the doctor is willing to write a very favourable memo, the chances might be higher.

Sorry to hijack this thread but would like to seek advises here..

I was diagonise with a cyst at my breast more than 10 years (around year 2003) ago and had it removed. It was a benign cyst.

I bought a private shield with GE in 2009 with an agent friend and declare this to him, however it seems that he did not declared for me back then...and since later he also left GE.

Recently i add on a rider and declare to my new agent and she was surprise that it was not declare when she check on the records. She process for me and declared my past condition. The plan was approved however with exclusion on any abnormaties on the breast. As this happen before i bought the shield policy, it affect my earlier shield plan too.

My question is, if i do a scan now and if there are no cyst found, do u think i can appeal to them? What are the chances of them approving?
Or should i change to another insurer?

If the cyst was removed a long time ago and there hasnt been any other growths during the period, then there's a good chance to appeal to the insurer. Of course, you would have to provide an updated scan and doctor report to supplement your appeal. If the insurer still reject, you have the right to change to another insurer, provided you got no other health conditions, as different insurers underwrite differently

Life insurance shouldn't be much of a problem. There will be companies which are likely to take you on at standard terms and some that will exclude, so it's good to apply to a few and take the best from there

I would say its pretty high to get full coverage =)

Non-declaration is a no-no. Insurer reserves the right not to pay out in the event of a claim if it's found that the insured purposely withheld information during application which is not what a person wants when he/she purchases insurance.
