Those say earning 3-4k a month is either trolling or really beh kan.

Median is 9k. Many earning 30-50k. 100k not uncommon also.
Damage control. Only 30% go straight uni route, need to keep the other 70% happy.

Time to increase BTO income ceiling?

Cannot. BTO income ceiling should be based on the income on the poor%, not the rich%.

Thus the better question should be, did the income of the poor% change over so many years? Especially when BTO price also shoot up.

the article didnt state include employer’s cpf or aws/bonuses too. If it does include then dont u tink the median salary for degree holders in sg is actually quite low? :s11: :(

Maybe it will be clearer if they break it up into by age groups.
go to labour report, all with breakdown.
not as rosy as reported of cos.

That's why I don't understand why edmwers said housing too expensive for our next gen. Their salary so high, worry about yourself better
If not wrong, that article include lao kok kok degree holders, so not all fresh grad degree holder gonna have that $

Also have to take into account of our next gen who are not degree holder

Median salary for entire population.
singapore has an older population which means the increase in median salary is driven mainly by older people who are holding more senior positions and thus higher pay.

you are understanding it to say median salary of fresh grad is $8k which is incorrect

looking at the breakdown, from 40s then have that level of median income.
and more in industries like infocomm, finance, insurance, professional svcs and public admin...
and oh ya, it's residents.
no direct data, but if we extrapolate from the tables, it seems that 8.6k median is achieved btw age 34 to 39. But this also means the peak is around 11k+ median near 50 years old.

People who do well don’t usually complain. It’s those who do not do well. People who don’t do well will also probably not have experienced the world outside sg.

Question is why they do not do well ? People skills ? Argumentative at work ? Not a team player ? Etc. Lack of intelligence? But yet not willing to work hard ? Of course there will always be those that are born with hard luck. Disabled at birth or mildly autistic. But then again likely they are not in this forum.

For the majority, it boils to character. Unwillingness to accept criticism of oneself, and lack of discipline to improve and change. It can be as simple as losing that extra one kg of weight, or deciding to have a positive attitude in life. Or even spend less time on such forums.

But, they, despite not being successful, continually to insist that they are right and the world is wrong. The rules are there. Level up yourself, and positivity attracts positivity. If unhappy with something, change your self or the environment. The person we should blame is ourselves, for not taking actions in both thought and deeds. All they want is everything to fall on their lap. Not willing to put in the hard work.

Life doesn’t care whether u r happy or not. We decide to be happy or sad. Do not allow others to dictate your emotions.

When they lump in resident with citizen
Its like giving nsf/nsmen a giant middle finger
ok lah, citizens 3.64 mil last year, PRs 0.54 mil, not alot.

but we dunno if PRs are statistically richer or not bah :D
