nowadays like quite hard to find tailors making shirt for less thn 100 bucks... :(

There are tailors at the food centre near Harbourfront MRT who'll tailor shirts for around $50... The cutting is not bad and some of the cloth looks rather fashionable...

do you find that some collars and cuffs spoil easily, creases that cannot be ironed out, after a few washes?

It happens to shirts that are tailor-made and are of high quality, so it should be due to something else rather than the fabric.

yes, there is brand that after wash and creases forever after iron. any solution for this? i tried spray Starch but still useless. will crease back after 2 hrs without wearing. what kind of cotton is that? The problem is this shirt is office wear shirt, not casual wear. sian

Economical - Office Wear

Looking good has a name: Prada. Looking good also has a price: very expensive !!

Business casual has come to take on a variety of meanings -- most of which are misconceptions. Society has constructed this term to mean "anything other than a suit and tie."

So, what does "business casual" actually mean? Think of it this way: no jeans, no ties. Anything in between this spectrum is acceptable -- provided the outfit is assembled properly. From khakis and slacks to dress shirts and sweaters, you should be able to build enough of a varied wardrobe that'll impress the whole business casual boardroom.

1- Economical pants
Label: Ben Sherman / G2000 / Topman

Ben Sherman's Corbett-fit tapered pants will help you find that appropriate middle ground between uber-dressy and under-dressy, while still staying stylish and sophisticated. Go for this dark gray pair, as they'll be easier to mix and match with your shirts collection.

2- Economical dress shirt
Label: Gap

Ok, it's 100% cotton and has a straight collar and chest pocket, so you know this microscopic investment will be a fashionable and durable part of your business casual look for some time.

3- Economical shoes
Label: Zara / Pedro

If you are looking for style yet very much affordable, Pedro is probably men would choose. Zara is way above Pedro in term of comfortness and reliability.

Dressing appropriately for work is one of the most important daily tasks you have. The man in the best business casual garb will demand the right amount of respect and attention he needs in order to climb his way up the ladder.

Hi people,

I have an interview for an intern position (aerospace engineering) at Rolls-Royce.

Should I go in black dress pant and long sleeves shirt? If so, what colour to choose for the shirt?

I know I would not go wrong with that attire but I currently have a pair of khaki pants from G2000 blu sometime ago and I am wondering if wearing that would be too casual.

My gf has been telling me that it's alright for an intern and also because I am in the engineering field (not business)...

Experience, advice and comments please gentlemen.

TIA =)

for god sake, pls dress properly for your interview! it doesnt matter which position you are going for, be it an intern or a perm staff.

the first impression you make on a potential employer is the most important one. the first judgement an interviewer makes is going to be based on how you look and what you are wearing. tats why its always important to dress professionally for a job interview.

u wont go wrong with long sleeves shirt + black business pants + leather shoes.

Chill.Haha. I know I should dress properly. But other than black business pants, any other colours? Will khaki do the job? Or too casual?

Black is a little boring. Lol.

On top of that, you think i can just use the SAF no.3 shoes? Heh.
