hey guys. i've been reading this thread for quite long already.
just wanna ask, those shirts sold at metro and robinsons, are they the
normal cutting kind or will there be slim fit available?

also, i recently bought a white formal top from Zara
in the shop it looked awesome with no flaws
but when i got home and wore it again,
i noticed that the shirt was those see through kind.

as in when i press it against my body can see the outline and slight colour of my nips.
is that normal for a white formal shirt? or should i get rid of it?

It is quite normal for white shirt. But then again, I think fabric and finishings of zara shirts are really not very good. I think it is if you can get it for $50 or less. Otherwise, there are better options as discussed in this thread and the tailoring thread.

check with your guys, how do you wash your pants if it indicated dry clean only?

Zara has some nice fabric pants with 100% wool material and showing dry clean only, i am afraid after wash, the shape and material will be bye bye le...

If it is dry clean, then you dry clean. No rocket science to it :) You need only dry clean say after a few wears unless you dirtied the trousers during the wear.

would wearing a plain white shirt inside spoil the overall formalness?

It is fine to wear a white t-shirt (please do get the under-shirt type, preferably v-neck so it is not too obvious)

i had a pair of hugo boss pant...it was supposed to be dry clean...but i was too lazy and also didnt want to spend those monies....end up the pant side pocket went out of shape...after a couple of washes...i have not wore it since...:s27: ended up with a bigger loss

so it is better to clean as per the label.

All the departments stores have both types of cuts.

White shirt is normal, get an under-shirt if you care. V neck or singlet.

yup, i 2nd that.

i do that as well.

you can get a good variety of under shirts from uniqlo.

go for v-neck pls. they have lyrca, cotton materials to choose from.

you wldn want to see the crew neck under shirt sticking out at the top.

perhaps white top is not too obvious, its worst when u wear a dark coloured top with a white under shirt.

only down side? it might be hot, especially when ure at the hawker centre for lunch.

Just realised my white shirt getting too thin even though I wore it less than 5 times in the last year. Think I really need to wear a tee under it.
