anyone knows what is an effective solution against collar grime/keeping white shirts white?

also if I need shirt that can support collar stays, will there be extra charge by the tailor?

where is a good place to get collar stays?

I went to this tailor called FatMan at Jalan Besar just now to do a shirt.

$65 for 100% cotton.. i asked for slim cut, normal 2 button cuff, no pocket and widespread collar..

The tailor is very friendly. He showed me alot of shirt samples for me to choose the details i want. Also patient when i took very long time to decide the designs. I'm really bad at picking nice designs or outstanding ones.. so just anyhow pick one.

Think he should be experience as he's quite old too :s22:

Collecting in 2 weeks time! hope it's good :D

gonna collect it later in the day :D

erm.. but how to judge if the tailorship is good? as long as it fits me well? :s11:

how well it fits... make sure there isn't too much room and too baggy along the chest/waist/sleeves
make sure sleeves are not too long(when your hands are down should not have like excess cloth), cuffs should be able to fit your watch(unless your watch is extra big)
collar should be comfortable when buttoned, and well... the usual shoulder width...

I got my shirt and pants ytd evening from Personality Tailor.

I requested both shirt and pants to be slim fit.:D

Pants wise, its really quite slim....

The shirt, i find the sleeves can still more abit more smaller. Maybe next mth when i go back to tailor for cny, i will tell him.
But the problem is that this shirt's design actually turns up to be quite close to one of my shirt in the wardrobe!!! NO!!!!
I didnt realised it till i shown my newly tailored shirt to my mum and she was grumbling why i waste money do same thing.... :p

Btw, guys. Ask u all. Pants hor, if get grey color, it will go best with what kind of shirt? Strips? 1 color? Bright? Dull?

u can actually go back to them to correct your sleeves. or u could just tell them to take note for your next shirt

Tailors in Peninsula arent cheap, and i think their prices are pretty much standardise.
I paid $90 for long sleeve shirt, cotton material.

U can ask for even better materials like from Eygpt, Italy etc etc. Those can cost u ard $180 for a shirt!:s22:

Then for pants, ard $95 for polyester material. If u want wool, its going to be $100++

Btw, anyone bought this week's magazine I-Weekly? The one with Andy Lau and Kaneshiro Takeshiro on the cover. Can help scan???:D I only managed to take a pic of it with my hp...:(

Its the wrist area wor. I think that part is more tricky lor. And it isnt that wide wide lor, so i can still accept.:)
If its the armpit area wide, that i cant tahan lor. Those shirts selling outside, are all like this for me. Even size 15, the armpit area is like can put 2 of my armpits...:(

for cuffs they usually have to redo the whole cuff
next time u go, wear your watch down and tell them u'd like it smaller but enuff to fit your watch
if u don't wear watches then tell them u'd rather not have any leeway for watches
