hi guys

where do you all usually go to alter your pants? Due to the lack of credible tailors around my area, i'm pretty lost right now :( :(

plus i'm looking to complete a set of formal wear for my upcoming interviews and work.
Already bought a pair of formal shoes and belt from Pedro today. i'm still short of a working shirt n cuff links. Pretty much combed the entire orchard area. Ransacking Raoul and zara etc. Any buddies have any suggestions for me?

p.s. 89 SGD for A Raoul cuff link is too much of a luxury for a fresh grad like me =x

Help is very very much appreciated
thanks in advance =]]]

to me zara has pretty nice slim fit shirts just that you do not need cufflinks and also for that price you can get it tailored outside.
for relatively cheaper shirts you can go to g2000, domanchi or man studio:D

Maybe for a start you can go for those shirt without cuff links first since you just graduated.... before moving on to with cuff links in the future...

By the way what is your budget for your shirt???

I'm don't mind splurging 100 odd for a shirt. Afterall, i do want to get a nice proper set for my interviews. Something like a best set. After which, i'll just spend lesser for my subsequents wears. :o

Moreover, i believe giving a positive first impression is of utmost importance in an interview. Shows my respect to the company and my attitude ( serious or not ) towards my work. seconded by how i carry and sell myself.

But this is just my point of view.... =p

in that case you probably should try reputable shirtmakers like TM Lewin. or have your shirt tailored:s13:

100+ you can get your shirt made to measure. There's a thread on tailoring in this forum, you can do a search and read through.
Cheap cufflinks can get from pushcarts and some smaller shops. Suntec has some pushcarts selling such cufflinks... think probably around $20 $30 or so.

Cufflinks are meant for senior management. A new graduate wearing that for interview will look "overdress".

If getting a first shirt, I won't recommend tailoring as u will have no clue. For off the rack, u can get Raoul. Their shirts are well made, have 3 cuttings (straight, tapered and slim) plus they offer alteration to fit the customer. , However, their shirt are $150+, making them expensive unless during their 50% sale. That why quite a few prefer to tailor at $120, provided u know what u want.

U might want to try Rossi at Isetan Scotts. They have off the rack shirts, can alter, and even tailor from scratch. Their sample shirts look well made, but tailor pants are expensive at $160+ as 100% wool.

this kind of cuff looks nice. But wonder if its a bit too formal or overdressed for fresh office workers.

I believe those are considered more fashionable and are LESS formal rather than too formal.

Beg to differ.
What you wear at work largely depends on your job scope, absolutely nothing to do with your seniority in the company.

I think those are hard cuffs.. depends on whether you prefer hard cuffs or normal cuffs...

It still depends on the job scope of your work to determine if it is overdressed...

There's no such thing as appropriate.
I see all kinds of bags being carried around at CBD.
Haversack, gym bag, sling bag, messenger bag, briefcase.

Personally, I prefer no bag. :D

crumpler is more for teens that are still studying, combining with office professional image is epic fail.

If crumpler is epic fail, then those carry harversack is what?

Seriously you guys need to stop worrying about what people think about you, and start to exude your own confidence.
