The acne problem is in fact gone. Its been like 2 years since i used the cleanser. Redness is from before. Was using some garnier facial wash before that.

I also need to point out that my pores look quite large.. How do i solve this issue?

Hmm. Thought maybe the cleanser was causing you some form of skin sensitivity, but don't think that's the case. Honestly not sure the reason for the redness in your skin. Maybe it's time for a visit with him again to discuss your concerns?

Does anyone here uses BB cream or CC cream?
Am thinking of trying out but not sure what's the ideal BB/CC cream for men on the market right now.

Been using Laneige Homme BB cream for years, works just right for me. :)

Hi guys

Those who have gone for gangnam laser, did y'all bring the products you used during the first consultation?

I made a first trial appointment for carbon peel laser cos my problems are clogged pores ard T-zone and chin. Anyone tried it and can share whether it was effective?

I'm also hoping to improve my dull skin - any recommendations?

I did! Brought my entire routine there lmao

The doctor did pay special attention to active breakouts that I've had. I had a huge acne (almost cystic) on my forehead and it was gone in a few days after the session. It would have taken at least 1-2 weeks to disappear on its own. I believe it was a combination of the carbon laser and IPL.

I did end up getting a small mark from it though.

I believe they have a resurfacing laser. Not sure what the technology is called, but I'd imagine that would help. You can discuss your concerns with the doctor on your first appointment. Even though you're not locked into any package at any point, Dr. Gary was very thorough in his explanation of the treatment plan (which is why I've only been booking my appointments with him :o).

oh no kicking myself now for deciding to not bring my products but i really have a lot lah and didn't think i want to lug them all down. very heavy leh! did dr gary study all your products and advised you to ditch those that aren't suitable?

my appt is with dr gary too hoho cos he looked like a nice guy from all the reviews i read lmao. can i ask if you took on a plan after your first consult/treatment or subsequently? will it function like facial places ah? sign now got discount, after first visit no more first-timer benefit lol don't mind me asking how much was your package and what it entails? just wanna use it as a benchmark.

the mark you got - what kind is it? usual PIH or a pitted scar?

He didn't specifically look through the products. More like a cursory look. Maybe they just look out for red flags like the St. Ives scrub?

I was satisfied with the treatment for the trial, but I didn't want to lock myself in, so I did a normal session for my 2nd one. I discussed with him my options, and ended up signing at the end of my 2nd session (so it was part of the package).

You can sign the package with them any time. Doing it on the trial or subsequent sessions will not have any difference.

Here are the two packages that they have:
6 sessions - $500
12 sessions - $980

You can see there is only a $20 difference between the two, which works out to $3 per session, so I went with the 6 sessions one for flexibility.

The mark I ended up getting is very, very very mild PIE. The type of PIE that you won't even notice unless you really look in the mirror, and the type that nobody else would notice.

oooo nice. the difference between both packages are almost negligible. think i'd take the 6 session one too if it works well for me.

for your second session did you have to pay consultation since you kinda "restarted" treatment?

what's wrong with the st ives scrub anyway? too harsh for your skin?

No need to pay for the consultation as it was considered part of the package. Come to think of it they're quite flexible with payment :)

The St. Ives scrub is too harsh and actually causes micro-tears in your skin, which lets bacteria in and causes acne. The company is actually facing a lawsuit for this product. I guess the silver lining is that it does exfoliate... albeit a little too well :s22:

Just completed my consult with Dr Gary and like you said, he's really detailed and approachable, plus he patiently walked me through the treatment he thinks will work for my skin. I also didn't bother to bring my products so he told me to the next round (haha so confident i sure come back :s13:). He did 3 different lasers for me + 1 carbon peel.

The package offered to me was slightly different though. Mine was:

5 sessions: $590
10 sessions (+ 2 free): $980

In the end I went for 10+2 cos it worked out to be ~$87 per sess vs $118. And they waived off cost of the trial :o But per sess i think you got a better deal!

Unless I remember wrongly, mine was 5+1 sessions for $500.

Was told it was a very new promotion so maybe they didn't really do the math :s13:

I usually also take the package of 10 for the 980.

Actually in terms of flexibility they also sometimes you can combine sessions and do something more intense. Eg a fractional and use up a few sessions in one hit. But that you gotta discuss with the doc...

I found out the 5+1 for $500 is for students! Was talking to Dr. Gary yesterday and he mentioned that.

Anyway, we agreed to speed up the process with stronger lasers at the cost of higher downtime. Yesterday night my face became noticeably red, and I could feel it was very raw. A little uncomfortable but feeling better that we're "getting real" now lol

you still student ah? maybe i should have pretended to be one although my skin age might give me away :s13::s13:

what did you do this time around? dr gary told me the skin takes about 2 weeks on avg to heal after every session (but probably varies with intensity of lasers)

i barely noticed any difference after my first session and was a bit disappointed. i know unrealistic la but i wanted immediate results :s13::o i at least expected my clogged pores to vanish :o

wanna go for simple facial and extraction any place to intro?

i heard that My Cosy Room is good. probably that's why they are so hard to book. i had to book mine 1 month in advance but that's cos my timing isn't very flexi.

Not student la... I think I managed to get my current package because it was new and the receptionists just allowed it haha. Don't think will be so good after my package finishes.

Was told to wait 2 weeks also, but shortest break is 1 week if you stop breaking out from the lasers (if any).

Eyes were covered so the only thing I could distinguish was the carbon laser (the carbon smells kinda gross). Basically we did a little bit of acne (still have some breakouts below jawline) and concentrated mostly on the scars. I asked to increase the intensity of the scars and was warned that it may increase downtime. Opted for it anyway, and I'm glad I did. I always have two days off after 1 work day, and I always go on my first off, so I always have 1.5 days to recover. My redness subsided this morning, but I can feel a new layer of skin growing because the places where he lasered (read: basically my entire face) feel a little rough to touch. The previous time this happened I experienced some peeling, so I think that's a good gauge of whether you actually need the full two weeks or not.

My first 2-3 sessions didn't see much difference also, and I got a few new pimples after one of those sessions also. Not sure if it's related. Try discussing the intensity of the treatment with him if you want. He's very flexible
