I have a face where the oil is very evident on my nose.

Been using a few facial washes but so far there isn't one that lasts for a day.

Need one that after one wash, the oil will be controlled so that it is so minimal and it doesn't make me feel oily and sticky.

Using Neutrogena now. Will try body shop's product next.

Your concept of using face wash as oil control is wrong leh

what you need is a oil control moisturizer or other cream or powder.

Since you have oily complexion, just get a oil-free moisturizer. I am currently using "No Shine" from +Rehab London. Best moisturizer for me so far.

without going into the tech details:
washing/cleansing is to clean your face/pores.
after washing, ur face will be cleaned and dry. if it is too dry, ur face will automatically secrete oil to "moisturize" ur face.
hence, moisturizer is used to "cheat" ur face from producing excessive oil.

if u r picking a moisturizer, choose those light type (e.g Simple) and apply thinly.

i used to apply the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion (it looks like thick toner, but it is actually a kind of moisturizer) but it caused pimples (not really a break out) once a while.

recently i found out that they have the same SHA hydrating lotion but in light form. i've only used it for a week or so but so far so good. u might wanna take a look.

I tried a sample from Guardian(I think) and 6 hours later, only some oil was found on my nose. Seems to work but I rather have more time to test it.

Also, it's no longer purchasable online. Instead it redirects me to Q100's website for Singapore sales and they are having a 50% off sale HERE

However, it's only 50ml and I saw the (look below) Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion (170ml) for $22.90 at Watsons. Hence, I shall try this one first! Thank you for your recommendation.

NP. You should get it while it is on sale.

Tried Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion before. Not bad it terms of hydrating, but for oiliness personally prefer NO SHINE

Review!

Hows rehab london no shine?

All right peeps! Time for a short and sharp review!

It's Hada Labo's SHA Hydra Light Lotion
light1.png

VS

+Rehab London MEN'S NO SHINE!

Preamble: I have an oily facial complexion which puts me at discomforts when there is a lot of oil build up on my face ( especially the forehead and nose ['T' Region] ). These two products were recommended to me on this forum and hence, I put myself through a week of each product to see the results.

Hada Labo's SHA Hydra Light Lotion

Hada Labo's 'Light' Lotion is the lighter version of their Hydra Lotion. My results were;

- Skin had a 'dry feeling' which I felt was the result of it evaporating from the skin

- Lacked hydrating feel when applied and left on face over 6 hours

- Oil build up was less but still evident when I used a white piece of paper to scratch the surface of the nose to see the yellowish oil for results.

Results: 2.5/5
I guess in this humid environment of Singapore, hydration is the last thing any of us need for our skin. Since it is already humid enough.

+Rehab London MEN'S NO SHINE!

- Skin had a more natural feeling

- NO SHINE on face at all!

- Oil build up was very minimal! When I performed the White Paper test, very little colour of oil was presented on the paper.

- It felt very balanced when I touched my face, it gave me a mixture of oil and water feeling and best of all, it didn't cause me discomfort.

Results: 4/5
I don't know much about +Rehab London. Their product does what it says though. There really was NO SHINE on my face.

and the winner for me is
