Would like to share this from Citibank..

Recently dined at Grub at Bishan Park and used my Citi dividend card for dining cost of more than $50. Just saw today online i got only 0.5% cash back instead of 2% for dining.

So, I called up Citi and asked why even though I am aware that its due to the merchant classification at the point when they installed the CC terminal at the establishment. So, as expected the CSO told me the same thing blah blah blah.. and that Grub was classified as some research (???) thing. I just told them that Grub is REALLY a restaurant and you can go check the website to confirm.

Thanks for the update. I guess if I use my UOB Preferred AMEX card, I will not earn 10X UNI$ too.

Will there be MCC code for online transactions?

I did one online transaction but my bank said there's no MCC code for it.
