In MF Ghost, all the Initial D characters are boomers liao, no longer racing.
The show is about the next generation, and main character is Takumi Fujiwara's student

Season 1 was kinda slow, but season 2 the action started picking up.
More races and less slice of life.

I think that is a horrible idea by the producers

It could have been a very family-friendly show that people just show to others
