I got the i3 version... my reason is as i hv said b4. it will serve my current needs and with money saved in my hands for future proofing. plus the case/box seems to cater to the thermal envelop of i3-y better than i5/7-U(4th gen), if it was broadwell, i5/7 will be nicer.

64GB is a little small, but i am doing fine with my current(about to die) lappy (i5 2nd gen 4GB ram with 40GB SSD with win7) no issue serving my needs.. not gaming or runnning anything hard, mainly for portable, office, onenote, readings with movies n some video crunching - basic ffmpeg.

That is just me, you need to understand your current needs to determine which is better, though, if u need high end stuff, desktop or other larger full lappy might be better. i3 with 64gb might or might not suit your needs, you know yourself better. cheers...

Thanks bro...I probably get the Core i5/128GB/4GB Ram at the Comex on Thur.

Experienced the same thing. From what I was told, most of the display sets are not software updated yet. Oh and don't go too harsh on those promoters man. They are just probably students trying to earn some extra $$. To me, a Surface Pro 3 can never replace a laptop still. It's more of a convenient hybrid device that's it.

I didn't really go harsh lar...as I understand he's just a promoter to help me with my queries...I just teasing with me and see how well he know his stuff and how well Microsoft "train" his promoter..with all the impt bits.

I guess not too good...

Wouldn't a skin interfere with heat dissipation? Considering the sp3 already has heat issues out of the box is it advisable to stick a non heat conducting material onto the magnesium surface.

Yah, for me it gets warm after about an 1 hour of usage. So I wouldn't want to paste a layer of sticker over it.
Although I made a very small scratch at the magnesium back, not sure how it got scratched :(

It will depends on the stocks that can satisfy the pre order crowd.

Most shops stop the pre order because they will not have sufficient numbers to fulfil the order. Even those that still takes pre order does not guarantee a unit.

Only if all those that preorder received the surface unit then we will be able to see it at COMEX.

i3 is definitely enough. Problem is that it will only have the 64gb SSD, which is too small if you install a lot of programs. i5 128gb is better IMO.

Actually the i3 as a chip terrible. If you can afford it get an i5 at least. i3 computers are really slow.

Not true. i3 computers are more than capable. Don't let the naming scheme fool you.
The internal SSD will make this computer much faster than an i7 + HDD combination.
