played with it at Challenger, and am quite tempted to get it.

The build is quite solid! But am concerned with the storage. Would a 64 GB version enough for MS Office and maybe Photoshop?

most likely not enough :o.

64gb will be left with about 21gb of usable space, after installing photoshop and office probably left quite little to store files :(

will be better to get 128.

Yes, need to be careful. A one-single touch on the power button is enough to power on the Surface Pro 3 in an instant. The InstantGo feature drains your battery life over time...a price you need to pay for waking your device in an "instant"... :p

You can just disable it under Change PC Settings.
got this option meh?

btw guys do you all use the bluetooth a lot? I use it with my bluetooth speakers a lot. and bluetooth keyboard and mouse sometimes.

but I realise that when I wake up or power up the device, my bluetooth speakers are not automatically connected. Even when I go into the bluetooth menu, can click the speaker, it won't connect. It will only connect again when I turn off the bluetooth and then turn it back on again. Anyone experienced this? Got advice?

Before I updated all the various windows update and firmware update, it would automatically pick up the speaker and connect to it. Now it doesn't. Its quite irritating that I have to turn it off and on to get it connected.

Hi,

I have a 64GB version.. I can't tell you if its enough for you, but for me its enough.

I am currently left with 29.5GB free of 53.9GB(from windows explorer) after installing in c: the following :

Libreoffice 4.3 (open sourced office)
MS Office 2013
GIMP 2.8 (open sourced photoshop)
VirtualBox 4
Python 3
R 3.1
Firefox
adobe acrobat
plus many others small stuff (VLC,7z,evince,avidemux, audacity, notepad++, putty etc)

with
3GB hiberfil.sys
1GB pagefile.sys
Windows Recovery(default)
(did not remove any default installed application like freshpaint, etc)

Nothing more to install for me, except for those windows updates that may grow the drive a little more. (currently already fully updated, nothing to install or update)

All my data files are in my microSD card for current use, backup and seldom used files in NAS and USB3 ext HDD. So even if the sp3 brick, I just remove my microsd and I can exchange it without much worries about my data. I never like to store my data files in a storage i can't remove when i send in my unit for repairs. (with my old laptop, I can remove my HDD/SSD)

hope it helps you decide.. cheers.. :)

Redownload the wifi/BT drivers from here

Download Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 2, and Surface Pro firmware and driver packs from Official Microsoft Download Center

and install them and see if it solves the issue? I had to do this in order to get my wifi/BT working initially.

For the wifi issue after SP3 sleeps and wakes up, it doesn't happy often to Chrome. Only to IE Metro.
It is very irritating.

can't seem to find any Surface edition Arc mouse anywhere in physical shop.

I saw it on the Harvey Norman Shop Yishun Northpoint. Since it was available at yishun itself, should be available at the main branches like Funan or Marina center

I didn't really have the time to play with Andy yet...most of the thing is touch and go...even my Surface Pro 3 :p Hahaha...

I have used Whatsapp function on the Andy and everything runs smoothly as expected but some of the features like taking a camera shot - will not work and render the Whatsapp to receive a "no response error message"...but this is to be expected as the Android emulator clearly do not have access to the Surface Pro 3 in-built camera. Hence this is something that users of Andy or rather Android emulator or equivalent will have to come to compromise. Another thing is the copying of files from the Surface Pro 3 storage to the Andy Emulator (which is also using a a partition on the Surface Pro 3)...it can be quite tricky to copy files...using ESplorer.

I am unable to start Andy as it always prompt error message. Reinstalled 3 times also have the same issue.
Installation is a pain.
Did you need to change virtualization in SP3 BIOS? Or update the SP3 graphics card driver or other updates to get Andy running?

Anyone has any comments on Surface Touch Arc compared to Logitech T630? Two of the few Bluetooth 4.0 mice out there.

not sure why everyone likes the arc mouse?
doesn't it takes up a usb slot...considering sp3 only got 1. not really ideal.

We are talking about the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition with Bluetooth 4.0. It does not need a Bluetooth dongle hence doesn't take up a USB slot
