got what change? think I will wait until end of semester then upgrade.
You're on a desktop or laptop?
I do photography and I have almost 400gb of various file types.
Onedrive in Windows 8.1 allows me to
- manipulate ALL my files and folders (offline AND online only);
- set specific files/layers of folders offline at any time, limiting disk space used; and
- make finished files/folders "online only" ... then it disappears from my SP3 disk space (I put my OneDrive on a 128GB Micro SD card) - but are still controllable. I enjoy freeing up 10s of GB with a click!!
In the new Windows 10 version: I lose
- the ability to see and manipulate "online only" files; and
- fine grain control over specific files to make them offline/online only
- the ability to make main folders "available offline" but sub folders (archives) "online only".
but I can still make whole folders available offline.
My workaround:
- add a layer of "available offline" sub-folders; and
- move completed files.
This 'placeholder' feature has been promised by the OneDrive team to return with an update in the future (no one knows when).
[LOL! It's complicated to explain but dead simple when demonstrated!]
