Anyone here with a Surface 3 tried charging with a powerbank? Wondering if the new Xiaomi 10,000mAh will be enough, or should I get the 16,000mAh instead.

EDIT: Or should I go for the Anker Astro3 / E3/4/5?

All these powerbanks only output 5v. Surface need 12v. Is your Surface different?

Any idea where can I get an original replacement that is not too expensive?

Saw a Carousell seller selling for only $58 preorder. Claimed to be original but in different packaging. Wonder if it's reliable. :/

Also saw that there are some additional colour options (red, blue and black) other than the original silver and purple colour on Qoo10 for $109 that claimed to be original too. Does the original surface pen come in these so called limited edition colours? The red one looks pretty.

on surface pro 3. I so far only use onedrive for onenote.

For you, I'd suggest just sticking to OneNote to keep things simple (it saves to OneDrive by default and you can just ignore the OneDrive app). Also, if you're audio/video recording while taking notes, the desktop version is the best tool.

FYI, OneNote Universal app version in Windows 10 is much more stripped down compared to the windows 8 version - if you're using it.

Checking back after upgrading to Windows 10... it was a good experience except that I had an inaccessible_boot_device BSOD but it was easily solved with a USB boot media.

Otherwise, no regrets generally. As predicted, I need to have a workaround, which made me use a different workflow across OneDrive and my SP3 + 128GB Micro SD.

Noticed my SP3 is running less warm after the windows 10 upgrade. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing it!

Have not done a run down test but the battery meter's 'time remaining' is very erratic (randomly jumps from 9 hours to 2+ hours)

my view is, since you lost the original, just get one 3rd party, usually is nicer looking (if there is) and use it. buy from TaoBao

Yes, it runs cooler with Chrome even with a few tabs open.

yeah, I'm especially surprised that the universal version is still so far behind the desktop version for stylus use - after they push so hard in their marketing

just did a clean install, so far so good. just that battery like drain faster. heard that it will stabilize after a week of usage?

as for onenote I manage remap the pen button to open the desktop version of onenote using 3rd party script.

There's some issue on Windows 10 for users who use the pen heavily.

There are various "fixes" discussed in these threads, but there's no permanent solution yet:

The bug occurs only when using the pen. When it happens, all single touches (left-click) will become right-clicks. The only fix is to touch at least 2 fingers on the screen or restart the computer. Incredibly annoying. Hope they fix it soon.

my sp3 is running windows 8.1.

my wifi 2.5ghz is super slow, dl is 4mbps while upload is 37mbps.
my wifi 5ghz can connect, but no internet access at all.

i have tried all methods including, factory reset, update drivers, rollback drivers, reinstall drivers, regedit to set power setting, but all to no avail.

my router is wndr3700 with different SSID for both band.

anyone knows what might be the problem here? thanks
