Maybe Samsung A35 is a good choice if she is familiar with Samsung.

Cheaper option: Poco X6 or X6 Pro.

I using x6pro poco as my delivery phone.

The only con I find is the gps not really that accurate .

When i turn my gps still show the same location until took a few sec later to react.

Not sure is the gps or phone issue

Initial start will take some time to triangulate, i wouldn't worry about it.

Unless of course, your phone suddenly place you freaking far off from your real location and then teleport you back which keep recurring

But then, this could also mean other issues / factors in place, not just your phone.

If it is like 3-5 seconds that is expected, unless you already have an app that is using the GPS to track all the way.
If you have that, then it should be within 1-2 sec max.

@xiaofan How's your Poco F7 Pro? Lazada and Shopee now having 10/10 sale. I am considering between Poco F7 Pro (S$410) and Oppo Reno 12F 5g - (S$273 with coins).

This is to replace my secondary phone Poco F4 (2yrs 4 months) - which is lagging, suspect is all the bloatware grrrrrr. Anyway this is mainly for my secondary line (eight) which i use mostly for driving (waze or google map) -GPS, Lazada gaming, overseas hotspot.

I read one lazada review saw he managed to get the Poco F7 Pro at $307 with coins. So still thinking to wait for 11/11 since no rush. Just a want not need as F4 is still working and i have just factory reset it to see if it helps.

I am using Poco X7 Pro. I tend to like Poco X series than Poco F series as I do not play games. I am not good at find lobangs myself, but S$410 seems to be a very good price for Poco F7 Pro.

I like my previous Poco X4 GT (8GB/256GB) and the new replacement Poco X7 Pro (12 GB/512GB). I use them as my main phone.

My smart phone history from 2013 when I started to use Singtel Mobile

1) Singtel subsidized phones with my Singtel Combo 2 plan and Singtel Circle benefits:
Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (2013) --> Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE+ (2014) --> iPhone 6S 128 GB (2015) --> Huawei P20 (2018)

The early two Samsung phone were passed to other family members.

2) Paid in full (budget <= S$400), using Singtel SIM Only plan.
Realme X50 Pro 5G (2021, passed to other family members) --> Poco X4 GT (2022) --> Poco X7 Pro (2025).

We also have two Poco X6 Pro phones in the family, one used by my daugther and one used by my wife as her secondary phone. Her main phone is iPhone 14 512GB version.

oh Poco X7 Pro is on promo too at $319 for (12 GB/256GB) at shopee. Do you find it laggy? or use Java Development Kit (JDK) to remove the bloatware?

Interesting that you would think Poco X7 Pro to be laggy. But I guess you may have higher requirements.

To me it is very smooth. The SOC used is MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra which is certainly pretty powerful. 12GB RAM is also more than enough.

In fact my old Poco X4 GT is also very smooth with Dimensity 8100 chipset and 8GB RAM.

To me Dimensity 8000 series chipset seem to be pretty good for my use cases. Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series should be fine to me as well.

Take note I don't play games. I also do not have high requirements for camera. Therefore Poco X series seem to be a good choice for my budget for main phone (S$300 to S$400, good for two to three years usages, 5G capable, NFC).

As for the so-called bloatware, I just uninstall them. I do not touch system apps so I will not use tools like ADB to remove system apps. I also follow common recommendations to disable most of the advertisement in HyperOS.

The above video is for mid-range. This whole thread is for mid-range Android phones.

I do not think any of the Xiaomi 17 series phones (Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max all use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset) belong to mid-range.

I will not consider Xiaomi 15T Pro as mid-range (Dimensity 9400+) either.

But Xiaomi 15T can be considered as mid-range (Dimensity 8400 Ultra).

I agree X7 pro have sufficient hardware for day to day usage if you are not into gaming. The only cons for X7 vs F7 is the sofware update. If only X7 also follow 4+6 years then that will be perfect.
With the current price of 319 (X7 pro) vs 419 (F7 pro), it is really worth considering to upgrade to F7 pro for 2 more years software update.

This is certainly a good point.

But then the question is whether you want to use Poco F7 Pro for 5 years or not, even with the firmware updates. Battery life can be an issue. Wear and tear can be another issue.

My target usage for a mid-range Android phone, falling into my budget of S$300 to S$400, is only up to 3 years as a main phone. Many users here may only use it as a main phone for two years.
