try and train your baby to accept new stuff

blend ur previous milk, breast or formulae and mix with the new one

over time, they will get used to everything.

my baby was able to accept all milk brands, but there are some brands which caused her to lao sai and so was excluded.

again, all babies are different.

Try to expose your baby to different tastes so that not stuck on a specific brand. I gave my baby the different samples n also alternate between a few brands since stage 1. Now he 3 years old can accept most foods, even likes durian..

Not all babies are that easy going with food, but can try..

Same. Chinese medical shops. They usually bring them in from Msia, give you further discounts when you return the tin cover.

Husband - price is the concern.
Wife- wants the best for the child.

Solution? Science the way out. Do a excel spreadsheet, compared the milk.

DHA is not a important ingredient in a child development. In fact other acids, vitamins, iron are more important. You can introduce DHA once ur kid starts solid with fish oil. It's better absorbed than fortified DHA.

All milk are fortified with vitamins, etc. Thus weighing the brands, region, nutritional can better indicate which is a better choice over price.

Alot of manufacturers now all focus on DHA and reduces the calcium, iron, vitamins on the milk to suit consumers needs. Back in olden days, westerns gave fresh milk and in Singapore dumex (fortified milk) powder was given. You can't buy the old dumex product anymore. One serving boasts high amount of calcium which is now hard to find in all baby milk.

After balancing the nutrients, you will see most of the gold standard milk are all on par. Then country of origin will give you a better idea to choose next. You have Africa, UK, USA, Australia, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand. Singapore is Abbott and everything comes in a bag dehydrated and mixed in a expensive plant in tuas. It's almost the same for all other makers except the ingredients transportation period. My personal choice will be aus and NZ.

In UK, Africa, if their local produce fall short, they will procure from Australia and New Zealand.

Also you can taste the milk yourself. I am 100% that milk from aus/nz tastes better than other region. also some manufacturers do not state their milk product origin..why?they procure the cheapest base on market.
can also just see what the govt hospitals are using...

I was always wondering why Shopee, Lazada, Supermarket etc... all cannot apply those online vouchers or even PG discount to stage 1 and 2 milk powder. Then I read from Shopee website is actually due to govt regulation to encourage breastfeeding.

Anyway, I have a friend who is a new father run to malaysia to buy Similac stage 1. It is actually made in Singapore. He did the content comparing and found that 98% of the nutrients are similar. Then 2% is Singapore has some goodies, Malaysia version dun have. Malaysia version goodies, Singapore dun have. So if you are those perfectionist, maybe buy both and mixed. If you are those believe Singapore version best and Malaysia no good, then just as usual buy in Singapore. If you are those that feel 2% is not a big deal and cost is important, then go Malaysia buy. Using current 3.45 exchange rate, a 600g Malaysia Stage 1 is around S$26. A 850g Singapore Stage 1 is around $66. So you do the Math.

hi parents just want to share an article on milk :) if your child has passed the age of 1, milk becomes a supplement and we can just give full-cream milk if they're under the age of 2 instead of formula milk. i think this will help a lot of parents save some cost
"While the average price of formula milk has more than doubled over the past decade to $56.06 for a 900g tin, a 1l carton of fresh milk costs between $3 and $3.50, and six 200ml packets of UHT milk cost about $4." hope this helps!!

Why Your Baby Probably Doesn’t Need Formula Milk After Turning One
