-DJ MARKET TALK: CIMB Raises ASL Marine Target To S$0.85 Vs S$0.78 14/11/2012
0833 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: ASL Marine (A04.SG) delivered a sterling fiscal-1Q, with all three business arms performing well with better gross margins, CIMB says, noting core 1Q results were 37% of its FY forecast and 48% above its expectations. "We expect ASL to continue making strides as higher-value shipbuilding projects are recognised in subsequent quarters. Quarterly earnings momentum and strong orders could catalyze the stock."
It is positive on ASL's agreement to acquire Dutch company Vosta LMG International for EUR5.1 million even though it is unprofitable; "Vosta's technical know-how will complement ASL's shipbuilding operations," it says, adding it will also enable ASL to vertically integrate and scale up the value chain. It raises its target to S$0.85 from S$0.78 after rolling valuations forward, keeping an Outperform call. The stock is up 4.8% at S$0.655. (leslie.shaffer@dowjones.com)
