Ok let me enlighten you abit.
1) share junction, might be biased (i'm assuming you read the forum) Forums are generally biased to their own positions, unless you know the person is very truthful.. (I can be biased on my own vested positions too)

2) strong order books would have already been priced into the current price. Only further large contract wins will give it bullish inclination.

3) Banks call buy. Who buys? retail.... then WHO SELLS? BANKS LOR.... enough said..

In my opinion, it still ranging around the triangle.. safer to buy nearer to 1.16 to tikam. Support at 1.15 and 1.10.

There are a fair bit of stuckists above 1.24.. all the way to 1.35
ezra.... has hit possible tikam price...

support at 1.14-1.15... nearby resistance at 1.175-1.185.. after that is 1.24

DJ Sembawang Drops Bid for Macmahon's Construction Unit - 13/1/2013
DJ MARKET TALK: Deutsche Bank Tips Keppel Over SembMarine - 9/1/2013
0903 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: While both Keppel (BN4.SG) and SembMarine (S51.SG) are well positioned to benefit from increased industry spending and replacement opportunities, Deutsche Bank prefers Keppel. "SembMarine is currently at a build-up stage for two large new yards, which we believe could involve more risks as operations begin." SembMarine's 2013-15 margins may be pressured as drillship contracts are executed in Brazil as it is new to drillship construction and the yard, currently under construction, may face potential cost overruns, skilled labor shortages, construction delays and other teething issues typical for new Brazilian facilities, it says. It expects SembMarine's new Singapore yard may face some labor issues as the government controls foreign labor, while the departure of the long-time senior marketing personnel and the recent jack-up-rig mishap are also areas to monitor. Keppel's strategy of being near markets and customers is paying off, with its Brazil yard one of the country's "most experienced" facilities, putting it in a good position to execute, it says. It sets Keppel's target at S$13.50 and Sembcorp's (U96.SG) at S$6.35, rating both Buy. It rates SembMarine at Hold with S$4.90 target. (leslie.shaffer@dowjones.com)

i see an ascending triangle on Healthway medical corp limited.

support at 0.09 cents and it broke the 0.1 cents mark yesterday so theoretically it will be still an upwards trend?

trying to grasp and understand if the interpretations are viable, or they are totally wrong. please correct me.

thank you thank you.

yes, its a descending triangle breakout, and target is base on the height which has been met

Because of its shape, the pattern can also be referred to as a right-angle triangle. Two or more comparable lows form a horizontal line at the bottom. Two or more declining peaks form a descending trend line above that converges with the horizontal line as it descends. If both lines were extended right, the descending trend line could act as the hypotenuse of a right triangle. If a perpendicular line were drawn extending up from the left end of the horizontal line, a right triangle would form. Let's examine each individual part of the pattern and then look at an example.

1.Trend: In order to qualify as a continuation pattern, an established trend should exist. However, because the descending triangle is definitely a bearish pattern, the length and duration of the current trend is not as important. The robustness of the formation is paramount.

2.Lower Horizontal Line: At least 2 reaction lows are required to form the lower horizontal line. The lows do not have to be exact, but should be within reasonable proximity of each other. There should be some distance separating the lows and a reaction high between them.

3.Upper Descending Trend Line: At least two reaction highs are required to form the upper descending trend line. These reaction highs should be successively lower and there should be some distance between the highs. If a more recent reaction high is equal to or greater than the previous reaction high, then the descending triangle is not valid.

4.Duration: The length of the pattern can range from a few weeks to many months, with the average pattern lasting from 1-3 months.

5.Volume: As the pattern develops, volume usually contracts. When the downside break occurs, there would ideally be an expansion of volume for confirmation. While volume confirmation is preferred, it is not always necessary.

6.Return to Breakout: A basic tenet of technical analysis is that broken support turns into resistance and visa versa. When the horizontal support line of the descending triangle is broken, it turns into resistance. Sometimes there will be a return to this newfound resistance level before the down move begins in earnest.

7. Target: Once the breakout has occurred, the price projection is found by measuring the widest distance of the pattern and subtracting it from the resistance breakout.

but well you could say isnt a descending triangle a bearish continuation pattern? but to me, it isnt, but now it breakout from top, i would assume it is a continuation and target has been met already.

no problem, to me, i always like to recognize the patterns, and then anticipate the direction of breakout

Thanks Sinkie for posting this chart. I bought ausgroup because you highlighted. I was eyeing on this too. Flipped and earned a little bit base on today's breakout.

you are welcome, but actually my postings are not really an inducement to buy or sell, but rather to show the one of the proper methods of using TA.

for ausgroup, the cui earning cause it to breakdown, so now probably bargain hunters is coming in.

now they are doing a small pennant, lets see whether can it fill that gap or not

I was eyeing the counter and was hesitating whether to enter or not. Your chart showed me that its a green light to buy. Just afraid no one shares the same thoughts as me.

okay just randomly taking one of another stock to see see look look (and practice of course)

so pacific andes,

1zv6cyr.jpg

i drew two descending triangles from the plots, not including the "breakout(?)" that happened in between the triangles.

but on the overall the trend is still on the upside? so it confuses me because i am not sure which of the interpretation is correct. the upside or both downside triangular shapes.

so if i could be bold enough to anticipate the next movements based on the dec-feb periods, it should be (?)

21o36ok.jpg

drew the next movement after the chart.

would this anticipation be appropriate to consider?

*still shuffling between investopedia and google sources to learn :o :o

good anticipation, but remember its still an anticipation afterall, trends can continue or reverse, it really depends on the mood of the market :)

Ausgroup... beware of potential bear flag breakdown....

the gap down can also be "seen" as a flagpole....

Weeks back, we were quite bear on the TA for Ausgroup when it broke support... and it really did gap down when results were released.
