snapdragon acer laptop if they drop to $900 will be a good buy for this purpose. 32GB ram

Budget? Running AI locally would usually need a good gpu with enough vram..

it seem AI by TS means normal copilot, chatGPT, gemini, those run on the cloud one.
i dont think need beefy hardware. even those old used thinkpad laptop will be good enough.

unfortunately recent ram and storage pricing has caused chaos for pricing

previously, a $200-$300 mini pc would be good enough for your usage requirement

managed to buy a refurbished mac mini m2 for $400+ from apple website, but they recently increased prices across the board, even for refurbished section

lenovo outlet had some refurbished t14 gen1 at $400+, but OOS at the moment

now, "cheapest" ok laptop is around $500+, one example below

Just get a laptop will do. lenovo or Acer will suit your budget.

i bought almost the same in Amazon last month . aoostar g flip ryzen barebone ryzen 7 h255 for $395. The non screen version aoostar was $385. You can take it as a reference point for pricing

Thanks. So you bought the flip? That is cheap compared to current price. So far how is the unit?

wait for prime bah or monitor if there is any drop before prime day, sometimes the best deal are before and not during prime

5 inch lcd touch screen nothing to shout about la, but quite handy

thermal are quite good as it has a VC with two fans. So far my CPU temp is 38 degrees celsius and if i play total war warhammer on the 780M it goes up to 56 degrees , game on it for 4 hours straight

also tested the oculink port with a external oculink dock i bought for $37, working fine

Recently I've seen sellers putting the tag "AI Compatible" for some of the laptops they are selling... I suppose these are the ones that suit this purpose?
