Mini pc?

Hi guys. Was looking around the market for a budget desktop for home use, surfing / basic document edits etc.. But seems like the budget desktop always cost above the 700 bucks range for the branded stuff.

Only the self built / sim lim type can cater to the 300-400 bucks budget.

I found some less branded mini pc. Mainly used for those company meeting rooms for presentations etc. Any reviews about these? Seems like the processing speed is decent, space is small and has almost everything, hdmi ports, 4usb ports, some comes even with ssd. Any reviews about this? Seems like it is a limited market, or just that the profit margins are too low for the makers?

If you want as cheap as possible then small form factor is not the way to go as you end up paying a premium. To get something to start you off will cost around 400 ish but it will be very basic (in built GPU).

u can consider asrock's deskmini a300. very small form factor, just slot in apu + cooler, ram and ssd of your choice then can already. the deskmini itself is about $260 on lazada, other parts have to source yourself but at least can choose which is right for your needs.

This is not recommended for the average user.

Yes for advanced users that want to dabble with linux its a potential path forward. I myself have a few Pi's and deployed them for specific tasks such as Ubiquiti controller, retropie, etc., BUT for my daily use I still go back to using a Windows or Mac!

Which store was that? The reputable ones have been around for decades so you're in better hands. If you want on-site servicing maybe can go for dreamcore, aftershock or even dell.
