Ok, this i not playing HD5 directly from the X5 actually.

My ubuntu pc is installed with MythhTV backend(server) & recorded 10,000 BC on HD5 today.

I am using the default eHomeMediaServer media player from the X5 to browse my mythtv which is a DLNA/uPNP server & playback the recording on the X5, using MX Player which is worrking fine with the hardware acceleration. So playback is smooth.

Tested out my G4.. I installed quite a few apps and the device seem to lag abit

It gets v hot too after about 45mins usage

Video streaming is ok

Something bad is the insensitive remote control.

I tried attaching usb mouse but got pissee with the hold right click and click left click to get into apps as releasing the right click will have a back command triggered.

Is getting the wireless mouse n keyboard worth it?

It's not that the remote is not sensitive but rather it's because it uses infrared hence it needs a direct line of sight to work. What u need is to get something that uses RF. I was using the logitech k400 and it worked very well. I just bgt an air-mouse too and it also made controlling the cursor much easier. The included remote is really only useful for turning off the device!

Is your room ventilated? Mine's using normal room fan and after 2 hour its slightly warm only. Not v hot. Remove the plastic sticker that's covering the ventilation holes on the side. IT HELPS ALOT.

Android devices are bound to lag abit even with Note2, just close some programs with the bottom left 2nd button and scroll them right to close it.

Remote control is as surefire888 said, infared, so must aim directly, just like how you control ur starhub SCV or TV. You can just buy any wireless mouse, or those keyboard mouse aga $30 from any IT shop.

Cheeeeers.

Bought the Dual Core Android 4.1 TV Box Mini
PC RK3066 from the following link. Received in 15 days. Good merchant.

Tested last night with WIFI.
Has built-in bluetooth. Came installed with Jellybean.
Tried to stream using PPTV, choppy can't watch. Tried speedtest app. Speed is good. Probably is PPTV itself. Will try direct streaming from PC or HDD tonight.
Ran for about 80mins. Device not hot, could be the metal casing which disperse heat better.

To use the infrared remote control, need to use a short HDMI extension cable so TV stick can be brought to the front.

BTW, I am using Mele F10 airmouse, highly recommended.

yes, but some people plan to hide it behind the tv to keep everything neat so having an extension sticking out would defeat the purpose. prob can't be helped though.

in any case, to me, the infra-red is just a temporary solution until you can get a wireless keyboard cum touchpad/trackball or an air-mouse. i have both the logitech K400 and the Minix air-mouse (identical to RC11) and they both work very well with my MK802 II and my Amlogic android box
