Node 202 is good but just keep in mind its bit hotter than usual and should be fine specially its desktop. The whole wiring thingy is also cramp so you need to be careful and clean it up so it would be easier to troubleshoot.

I have also issue with power lead, Too bright for my case I use a pen to blur it up.

GPU: Palit Dual GTX 1060 3GB ($275 from Lazada after $30 off with Standard Charted discount)
SSD: PNY 240GB ($129)
HDD: Toshiba 2.5" 1TB ($77)
PSU: Silverstone SFX 450W Bronze ($109)
OS: Windows 10 Home (<$20 from Carousell)
ADDON: 2x 120mm airflow fan for gpu compartment ($20 from Carousell)

TOTAL: $1271

Price quoted from PC themes or otherwise stated

Add another 8gb ram next time when you find it is not enough for your usage.

You can get better discount at other shop and perhaps get it within your budget. Also try source some of your stuff through online sales as well.

I'm also thinking to build a MITX rig mainly because of space constraint (i don't even have a table to place the rig on so it will be on the floor) and I'm just wondering, would ASUS Prime B350M-A + RYZEN 5-1600 fit into a MITX case?

This is what I'm thinking of getting so far:

MOBO+CPU: ASUS Prime B350M-A + RYZEN 5-1600 $480 PCT
RAM: CORSAIR LPX 2400MHZ 8GB x 2 $199 PCT
GPU: ZOTAC GTX 1060 6GB AMP $409 Lazada
SSD: PNY 256GB $129 PCT
HDD: TOSHIBA 1TB $63 PCT
OS: Win10 Home $20 Carousell
PSU: Maybe Node 202?
Case: Silverstone SFX 450W Bronze?

Looking to spend about 1.5k thereabouts and I will only plug it to my wall-mounted UHD TV. Playing FPS and simulation games most of the time. Would the GPU be an overkill?

No, mATX mobo cannot fit mITX cases. Consider getting a Thermaltake Core G3 from Carousell for $95. That's the only few slim atx cases I can find that fit an mATX mobo and allow horizontal placement. Ram get 2666MHz for the same price @ PC Themes. Psu can remain Silverstone 450W SFX Bronze.

I never calculate your build price, but if budget allow, get gtx 1080 or 1070 at the very least. GTX 1060 is not good enough for 4K UHD gaming. Also, founder edition gpu will work best for tighter casing like this.

Thanks for your input. That Slim ATX should fit my requirement. as for GPU, I'm actually looking to play on 1080p mainly but since I'm saving up for this build, I guess 1070 should be achievable. Thank you so much for your advice!

Don't mention it bro. If you're getting gtx 1070, play at 1440p upscale to 4k. It will still looks pretty good I would say. Haha

I think for your case, don't waste money..
Straight jack spend $1.4k on a 1080Ti. ;)

I'm intending to get the Impulse with a 1050 TI and use it as a HTPC connected to my LG 4K TV.

The problem I think is that my TV will be the bottle neck. Is my thinking correct?

Nope. If just as an entertainment HTPC for movies, it's fine. But I don't think you can play game on it though.

But, if you want, build yourself is cheaper. Getting Aftershock is only for its warranty and services. Their pc is generally more expensive than a DIY of the same thing.
