erm.. is it.. i don't have any known issue with m1. still u should get what you paid for and not just because its stable and more responsive.
you should get your mb right before talking about stability and responsiveness - that's what i feel.
Try opening 10 tabs/windows in your browser to different links.
Those who have used both BBoM and M1 would be able to tell the difference.
Without the discounts, both services are priced exactly the same - discounts dished out during exhibitions to attract customers is not a reason for a service to give inferior performance.
M1 has its known problems, and the sooner they address it they sooner they can expand their userbase. By then, users like me may be more tempted to upgrade to higher plans instead.
Never meant that. I said "But the general consensus is that BBoM is stable and more responsive than M1, which I do agree. M1 should try to get to that level.", nothing about people shouldn't be complaining or what. I merely stated the general feel that users of both BBoM and M1 experience, and that I think M1 should try to improve their stability and responsiveness (of mobile broadband). That is all.so what you meant was opening them simultaneously? the 10 tabs?
so correct my if i am wrong...
i paid for 10mbps but as long its stable at 2mbps... i shouldn't be complaining? am i right ? If that's the case i see alot of users complaining about their lack of speed paid for... why? Shouldn't you be pasting your above mentioned message to inform them?
as long its stable and responsive... speed is secondary

Please do not jump to conclusions or put words into my posts. I have no idea what you're picking at.
MarineX, this is a Mobile Broadband testimonials thread, so I didn't want to state M1 Mobile Broadband. Anyway, like I said, I wasn't implying anything - it's my opinion (and of some others) that BBoM is indeed more stable and more responsive than M1MBB. Just something for potential sign-ups to take in and bear in mind when choosing. I like BBoM's stability and responsiveness, but I like M1MBB's pricing. Whether others want to complain about not attaining certain speeds etc is not really my concern. End of the day, the purpose of this thread is that - for potential users to come in, read the testimonials for the areas relevant to them, read the comments of current/past users, and decide on one of those providers themselves.
As for what is so unstable about M1MBB, you'll need to try out BBoM for a while to really experience it for yourself. Of course it seems like it's also area-dependent (I've read BBoM users complaining of poor performance in areas like Bukit Gombak or somewhere there), but in the areas where both BBoM and M1MBB does well, BBoM does indeed get the preference if price is not a factor. I'm a heavy user when I do use mobile broadband, and it's very obvious when (on quite a few days per month) I ping the nameservers and get extended periods of poor performance (10 secs ping replies, followed by 2-4 sub-100ms replies, and the cycle repeats itself). I hardly got that with BBoM in the past.
That being said, I'm not complaining. I'm just wishing M1MBB would get to the level where that doesn't happen. When they do, I'll be one of the first few to upgrade to a 2Mbps plan.
stephen30, thanks, added.
BBoM users, don't be lazy, share a review or two please!
BBoM or M1MBB? I was referring to BBoM, in case you misread.
If you're here just to launch a staunch defence of M1, I'm not sure why you need to do that when no one's slagging it.
aaur4man, it's a toss-up between M1 and StarHub. Of particular note is a review by one who crossed from SH to M1... and he thinks SH is better. But this depends on how "west" you are.
Hehehe, MarineX, BBoM is SingTel's Broadband on Mobile, commonly known as BBoM. M1's product is called Mobile Broadband, commonly known as M1BB (it's only with the recent release of fixed broadband that people have to differentiate and call it M1FBB). Your speedtests are all on M1MBB. I guess I could've been clearer about things, but that has been the de facto term of addressing SingTel's mobile broadband service since it came out in 2008 (when I was using them).
Anyway, no offence taken at all at any time. We're all here to discuss the good and bad and see how the 3 telcos progress. From being the most slagged off mobile broadband service despite being the earliest in 2006, M1 has progressed by leaps and bounds over these 2-3 years.
santaboi, check out the first page. Quite a number of Jurong West testimonials there, and generally not bad. But still, gotta temper your expectations and don't expect it to replace a regular fixed line broadband.
