Guys, really need help. I'm on 14mbps bbom from singtel and in lavender area.. sometimes i have a sudden 100kb/s surge then most of the time i'm back to 0kb/s and nothing moves at all.. Called/emailed them for 6 months+ them so many times but they refused to let me cancel without charge nor change the plan to land line. Gave me 2 mths waiver already but the point is, i still can't use the net properly! Any ideas?

I wonder if SingTel BBoM discriminates users on lower-tiered plans.

I used to live and study in Singapore (somewhere in Bukit Timah back last year), and I have a VAS BBoM for my mobile phone. So the speed promised was 7.2 Mbps. Have been able to get an average of 2.0 Mbps on the downlink, and sometimes up to 4-5 Mbps on a good day.

Later on I subscribed to 1.5 Mbps BBoM youth plan (for laptops - with the modem) for my girlfriend. She stays in the same place as where I stayed. She has never been able to get a stable connection (Connection Manager says it's connected - but in actuality - 0 bytes sent/received) most of the time. Ping times, even to SingTel's DNS server (165.21.83.88) often results in 3000+ ms or timeouts.

Called SingTel oso no use. They insist its modem fault and asked me to go to Huawei center instead =.=" Now wanna terminate the plan also need to pay ETF of S$300.

MobileBB plans are all like that one, even high end Starhub plans too.

Starhub really need to look at the speed and network bandwidth at Jurong West Central One area. Is too saturated with people using and the speed is like.. o_O

You ensured that your modem is not blocked? Try testing it with the modem near the window... unless it really so happens that you're in the weak spot for M1's signals.

My current mol express plus plan also come with 7.2 Mbps ... Got this plan 3 years plus ago , initially they gave out 7.2mbps , after awhile they became stingy . Anyway I never ever hit 2mbps for my 7.2mbps ... Usually it is just barely hit 1mbps even in local server , so doesn't matter , m1 7.2 Mbps is slightly better , about 1.5mbps ...
