Yes, though it might take some time for you to get used to the slightly higher latency.
Every action and reaction by the remote server/PC will be slightly delayed (a bit like VOIP).
I've done it on and off using 1Mbps, so nothing that 2Mbps can't handle.
Unless your remote desktop is like 4096 x 3072 resolution or something crazy.

I am on maxmobile surflite, but this month i always get no connection.. the modem always shows red colour (no signal) from 10pm to 12am...

irritating... especially when you want to use after a long day but it is just dead

If i use SmartSurf 100 plan, can i get a another sim card using my handphone plan, and use it with my E1750 and use internet? Whats the speed like ?

Just to share, I've connected a machine running on command-line linux only, to M1BB using an old SingTel E220 and set DynDNS in order to allow remote access - that connection has been up for almost a week without getting interrupted. There will still be days when the latency turns horrible (16seconds for round-trip pings) but that is likely to be due to M1's stations.
A custom script runs periodically to ping one of my servers or Google to determine that the connection is still alive, otherwise it kills the connection and redials.
I wonder if anyone has tried something similar with their StarHub/SingTel mobile broadband?

It may or it may not, as it still depends on the data network traffic etc.

It should be the same since mobile broadband doesn't even come close to the theoretical limits of the interface.

This recently Starhub maxmobile has been so slow at clementi area... around the KFC and mcDonald... keep getting gprs signal or sometimes don't even have signal...

I am pleased with M1. Quite stable. Though I had to disconenct and reconnect at times (modem issue?).

2Mbps plan btw.

2 Mbps plan, tested. First 2 Singapore server, last 2 Hong Kong server.
E1552 Huawei modem by Singtel.
Location Bedok Reservoir.
Other concern is the not-so-stable ping.
I will test for other areas soon.

Starhub at Jurong west near to Jurong Point is never good or up to standard.. maxmobile.. staying near to RVHS

sengkang area: horrible
town areas: decent to horrible, depends on time, 2-6pm normally very crappy on mon-fri
MRT NEL: surprisingly decent, only some stations seem blocked out

decent: what you paid for
horrible: completely no up or downstream or very very slow (like a few kbps slow)

Nope... Its just that Telcos ain't doing much about it and we are too tired
to vent anymore frustration here. Just need to terminate the plans when
contract ends.
