anyway how to know if the HKD notes is 2003-2008 or 2010 series?

I faced same probs. Many places dun accept old hkd1000 notes. Even dbs bank in hk dun exchange it. Finally went to Bank of China then managed to get them exchanged.

Use the $1000 note at 7-11 and MacDonald, they will accept it.

Went to citygate adidas, they do not accept 1000 hkd note ...
they have a sign on their cashier area to inform you that ...

Too bad for u. Last time I used 1k note at Northface shop in Citygate. Buy octopus card at MTR airport express also no issue.

Just changed at Parkway Parade money changer 5.33 yesterday sg$3k. Not the popular chinese one but the indian one near the taxi stand. His sign board said 5.81 but he gave me better rate. Chinese one signbord said 5.95, I didnt go ask for better rate.
