Anyone know does HK shop take 1k. I changed at the idiotic money changer and when I ask him he say yaya 500. But he only give me 2pc 500 and all 1k. I was like wtf. The rate is quite okay at 6.165 arcade 2nd floor.

But the problem notes is with year 2002. I holding a 2010 and 2012 1k

You can exchange with your hotel reception. They will usually allow $1k note exchange for one - two pcs each time.

If u reach HK airport during normal banking hours, just go up to BOC and they will change all your 1k notes with a smile on their face. I change about 30 pieces with them during my last trip in Mar.

Yeah it is true. But sometimes no choice when you see something you want to buy but local money is not enough..lol~~~

just got back from Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui, exchange rate there is 1 SGD to 6.17HKD

i changed at Tsim, Sha Tsui,Chungking Mansion (where i stay), its better rates than SG.

come out of MTR can see the building already

Thanks for reminding me. In the good old days, those shops of exchange in tst near to chungking mansion give a better rate. Whether to want to buy hHK dollars, or hongkonger change their money to foreign currency.
